Finding the artifacts related to China (CISAH Activities-3)

in #aceh8 years ago (edited)

In an expedition aimed at archaeological survey in of Aceh Tamiang--a region located on the east coast of Aceh, bordering North Sumatra province--CISAH had found something that has never previously unexpected: artifacts related to China.

It is already known before, that in Seruway, an area in the coastal parts of Tamiang, there is an old convent that is about 100 years as a place of worship for the Chinese colony living in Tamiang, which proves the existence of Chinese ethnicity in Aceh since the past. However, something unexpected was the discovery of the tomb stones that contain epigraphy in Chinese. Around the tomb stones are also found shards of ancient pottery distribution, which indicates that the tomb stones derived from an older period than the old convent in the Seruway.

Which adds to the belief that the tomb stones are already old and archaic is because at the next time, when we visited the museum of Banten, in Java, we also found a similar tomb stones at the museum.

The discovery of these tomb stones was new case for us, and we've confirmed to some who we think are understands Chinese, but they said that the Chinese epigraphy it was in the old dialect in Chinese.

How is that actually, we do not know, and we can not infer anything about these, and hoped, with posting these images, we gain enlightenment from people who expert on this subject in this community. For that, previously, we are like to thank anyone who is graciously volunteered to provide a valuable explanations. Thanks.
