CISAH on a trip to the hinterlands; part 1 (CISAH Activities-8)
In the days of the ancient maritime trade, the relationship between ancient cities situated in coastal or relatively near coastal area, with the hinterland, certainly, is a dynamic dependency relationship. The hinterland and its forests are a source for commodities that are marketed in the coastal area and traded around the globe. Therefore, how the the face of life in ancient times in these areas, and posts links between the region and the coastal areas, is something that must be known and studied.
For that reason, CISAH take a trip into the forest and hinterlands to discover traces of ancient times that would be useful for the reconstruction of social and economic history of the people who live on the island of Sumatra. That trip is along a watershed in northern Aceh, called Krueng Keureuto. The trip began in a village located at entrance of Aceh Forest.
