Choosing The Right Gaming PC

Now that the shortage of graphics cards created by the massive influx of cryptocurrency miners into the gpu market is over we can expect to see gaming pcs start dropping in price karma which is a blessing for those of us looking to get a new rig. so, I thought it would be as good of a time as any to look into some of the criteria one should consider when buying a new gaming rig. This guide is geared towards those folks who are looking to buy a pre-made gaming computer instead of building your own.

Since the preferred tool for computers gamers is the desktop that is what we will focus on in this post. Gaming desktops can do all of the things their regular computer again, and it will allow you to use far more powerful graphics rendering and in some cases computational ability. There are three main aspects that you should be sure to look into when purchasing a new gaming computer.

The first of these specifications is the processor or cpu. it is important to check out the cpu power because most gaming of this requires massive amount of processing power and a gaming pc should be built to process that data extremely fast. You should be sure that you are a new computer has at least an intel i5 ornua processor and if possible you should look for a device with an amd processor.

The second most important piece of a gaming computer is the video graphics card otherwise known as gpu; most gaming pcs will come with a dedicated graphic card, this usually comes with additional resources in process power for your system. The gpu is what has the largest impact on the quality a graphics rendering on your computer. If you want to learn more about what type of gpu check out my post on types of gpu’s.

The final major aspect that you should consider when purchasing a new gaming computer is what type of cooling is used. This is one of the most important aspects of a gaming rig because processors and gpu run very very hot because of the power that they exude to do their jobs. Most basic gaming rigs will come with heat-syncs and fans to help cool the device, but you can also get more advanced cooling systems that use liquid and cooling blocks to bring down the temps of your rig. This is often overlooked by buyers who assume that the manufacturer designed the device well but it always pays to be aware of cooling systems.
Aside from those major points you should also consider the type of memory that is used in your rig; If it is older than DDR3 then you may want to look into a more advanced device. I would also take note of reviews especially on the support from the manufacturer and retailer. My last few commercial rigs have either come from Dell or Asus because I find their repair plans and customerservice to be excellent, whilst their products always live up to expectations.

There are many different brands of Gaming pc's with a plethora oc components that you can delve into. I hope this guide helps you on your search for the best gaming rig for you. Always remember if you dont find a rig with the specifictions you desire, you can always build your own! There is a slight learning curve but after some youtubing and a visit to Cybrary you will be ready in no time. I built my first gaming rig in 2017 and it only took me a few hours to assemble and get gaming. I can say its a decent device but next time ill make sure to buy a good gaming memory. Which do you prefer A custom or prebuilt rig?

All great tips for choosing the right parts. Although there is so much saturation with pc parts and RGB, it's getting a little ridiculous lol.
