RE: Another example of Steemit Abuse - But is the SYSTEM really working?
How was an account that obviously purports to be DJ Khaled by its very name choice even allowed to be created - I thought every account registration has to be cleared by Steemit Inc?
Per the Steemit FAQ: "You will be asked to verify your email address and phone number. After your email address and phone number have been verified, you will be added to the waiting list. You will be notified via email once your account is approved."
What a joke. My consternation about the evidently lackadaisical oversight of this platform continues to grow by the day. It clearly is not the premiere example of what the Steem Blockchain is capable of. The fact that Steemit Inc is asleep at the wheel regarding this sort of nonsense is disconcerting, to put it lightly.
And the worse thing is @DJKhaled will be pissed when he realizes he can't ever get that account back. He's a real hustler and would have considered Steemit as another opportunity to build his brand. Not anymore :-(
I think Steemit INC is failing the STEEM blockchain. Maybe we need a new path to the blockchain.
New paths are being attempted, such as Utopian, Dtube, etc. I'm just not sure to what degree they'll succeed at superseding the deficiencies of Steemit though. After all, Steemit is the original proof of concept of the Steem blockchain. So long as Steemit's development lags and improvements fail to materialize, then the market's valuation of the underlying blockchain itself will remain less than its potential.
