Call to Arms: Fight the bots!
I have been tracking some notorious copy/paste bots. These accounts just steal stuff from reddit and post it as their own on steemit.
I am sick and tired of it.
If every user downvoted these fools into oblivion I would not be happier. The accounts I will show you post at least 10 posts an hour. I have reported them, but I think it is upon the people to show what we think steemit should be.

Everything he posts is from reddit. Look through his history. No original content - https://steemit.com/@holunder
I think this an account related to drumz but I have no proof. Only that they posted the same reddit repost near the same time. - https://steemit.com/@silten
Same deal. All copied stuff. Not one original post in the bunch.
It's time to chop it down!

I have already gone through these accounts and down voted. But it's a bot and I can't keep up. If genuine users would use their downvotes, we could unleash a red flag hurricane that would show the community what is expected.

Use your flag!
Sometimes it is hard to know if something is original or not. I'm pretty sure the three I mentioned above are abusers. They all have no money in their wallet so down vote with reckless abandon. Who's with me?!?!
We wants some quality content!
as always....
I think we need a 'flag' user feature rather than just the ability to flag posts, but thanks for helping to make Steemit a better place for everyone.
Well right now the "flag user" is the mute button and I have been using that more.
I think a tag filter system on top of that would really weed out a bunch of crap.
If I could not show anything from colorchallenge and christiantrail that would be awesome.
Good stuff Doc. Up voted and of course resteemed.
Thank you for your continued support.
You Rock!
good luck...if they put the link I guess they can do it.. so you really cannot even report it...I see people take comics, famous ones, and put it there with say gary larsen .. they don't seem to have any problem making a lot of money on those..guess this is a type of problem
True, though these bots are complying with cite the source, there is abuse. They do NOT comment on the news, what they contribute is nothing and they congestion in a significant way our platform. This makes the essence of steemit hurt. Steemit can not be a mug to fill up with all the crap.
Steemit should be characterized by being a clean platform, where its users strive to contribute in various ways to the growth of the community.
My thoughts exactly!
I’m with you. The accounts are actually stating that they are bot generated posts, and they are properly citing a source... however it is absolutely spam.
Bookmarked this list to revisit daily with a few flags. Hopefully some rep damage will occur over time. No reason bots like this should climb up to 50+ rep. It should be negative so the spam will be minimized automatically. If someone wants to legit follow them and read their random bot generated link list they still can (though I have no clue why anyone would!)
True! Holunder actually replied to me and seems to think that because he put the time in to write the code for the bot, it is the same as putting the time into a good post. The concept of spam seems lost on him. eeesh!
tip!
(Also, UGH steemit is slooooowwww lately.)
Woot! Thanks!
Where's @tipu? Did it run off with my funds?
No sign of him. Maybe he did or it got lost in the lag. Don't resend. It's all good. :)
