Domestic Abuse. WHEN WILL IT STOP?

In a time when the microscope is zoomed in to every action of these young stars we are still hearing these horrible stories of abuse. There is no time or place where this behaviour can be condoned and my hat is off to the NFL for being so hard on theses players who cross the line. My question is why? Why does this travesty continue to happen over and over? So many of these young men continue to make the same mistakes. The world is in the palm of their hands and yet we are plagued with the same sad story over and over.
We spend so much time putting these stars on a pedestal and they continue to let us down. I think there need to be a huge emphasis placed in character development at younger ages with these stars. These young me grow up being kings of their world and more and more we see that they have a disregard for woman and make irreversible choices. At some point during their young development when we are turning them into superstar player we need to pause and spend some real time turning them into good citizens. This vicious circle of domestic violence needs to stop.
So true - you probably heard about Rob Porter, recently a White House Staff Secretary, of domestic abusing his 1st and then his second wife. There is clear documentation and a witness of the abuse and the wives had told people and nothing has ever been done to Rob to punish him for his violence or prevent it. The wives had gone both to the cops and their minister. This is a very clear case. Can you wonder that a 'little thing' like egregious harassment both goes unpunished and unreported?
I'm a little uncomfortable with firing a guy when the assault and harassment problems haven't been looked into, have no witnesses, and only 1 person has come forward with accusations (which has been happening with the #Metoo disclosures) but I'm glad that it's become something that people in authority are starting to deal with now.
It’s becoming a very murky time with these allegations. We can’t live in the world of ignorance that has been the case forever but at the same time we need to take the time to look into the validity of every claim. It’s just nice to see that this issue is finally coming to the mainstream and people are taking a stand. It seems like every day we are hearing something out of media or the entertainment and sports industry but he reality is that it’s happening every day in homes all over the place where there isn’t any media hype to support.
