Culture is a way of life that grows, and is shared by a group of people, and passed down from generation to generation. Culture is made up of many complex elements, including religious and political systems, customs, language, tools, clothing, buildings, and artwork.
Every region of the world has its own culture. Whether in the village or in the city are all cultured. Because culture is very close and is around us. In my area or rather Aceh has a culture that is quite unique to tell. And that culture is a coffee-drinking culture.

Why I Choose Coffee Culture

Coffee culture in Aceh is almost always seen at all times. Each activity begins and ends with a cup of coffee. The people of Aceh can not be separated from coffee. Therefore, the coffee shop will be a lot we meet in various corners of the country nicknamed this Veranda of Mecca. Both day and night, various walks of life in Aceh fill coffee shops to relax for coffee.

Unlimited from the young to the old, male and female, poor and rich, all mingling without barriers. It can be said, coffee is like a breath for the Acehnese who can not be separated from their daily life since the time of the sultanate of Aceh.

The tradition of drinking coffee has grown from generation to generation as the development of Aceh as one of the world's leading coffee producing regions. Since the Dutch colonial era until now, there are at least two areas of coffee production centers in Aceh, namely Ulee Kareng and Gayo. Ulee Kareng Coffee, which is a type of Robusta coffee, is produced from Ulee Kareng District.

Meanwhile, Gayo coffee which includes Arabica Coffee in the world market including premium coffee class. The two types of coffee is what makes Aceh the name of one of the best coffee producers in the country that dominate 40% of the domestic market.

Especially for Coffee Ulee Kareng, can be said almost all coffee shops in Banda Aceh presenting coffee production this area. The process of processing coffee powder in these coffee shops save its own uniqueness.

Coffee powder is not just brewed with hot water but cooked, so the aroma and taste of coffee that comes out really strong. This cooked coffee then undergoes several filtration processes using a conical sieve.

In these coffee shops, coffee is generally offered in three serving variations: black coffee, milk coffee and sanger. Black coffee and dairy coffee may be frequent in other parts of Indonesia, but Sanger is a typical and original blend of Aceh.

At first glance to see how it looks, this coffee is similar to coffee milk. But typical of Sanger is the composition of milk and sugar that is not dominant to make the fragrance and taste more tasted coffee. Mixed coffee filter, condensed milk and sugar is then shaken until frothy.

Although times have changed, the culture of drinking coffee amongst the people of Aceh is maintained. This tradition continues to decline down to their young generation today. What makes it different, now the convenience and facilities offered by the manager to determine whether or not a coffee shop in Banda Aceh. Now, a comfortable layout and free internet hotspot (wifi) facilities generally attract more young people to feel at home in the coffee shop.

What The Special Coffee Culture to Me and My Local Culture

image

I really like coffee maybe this is also my father factor who likes coffee to lower it to his son. Many memories are created when remembering drinking coffee with family. Coffee is very special for me because it can add intimacy and friendship. While I drink coffee with my friends also add insight and knowledge of the discussion on the coffee table.

For my local culture in Aceh coffee adds income from the livelihoods of the people who market the coffee crops and also to the coffee shop business. For coffee lovers and lovers they are willing to drink coffee for hours is because the taste of coffee is very delicious and also the atmosphere disetting by the cafe owner to be as attractive as possible with ornaments and internet facilities. In addition, coffee variants provided by cafe owners or coffee shops tend to vary and can be ordered according to the tastes of coffee lovers. In fact, this time also incorporates taste or international taste into the taste of coffee that is formulated to add a variety of flavors on offer.

However, for those who are genuinely connoisseurs of true coffee, simple stalls but one of the best coffee blends in Aceh, such as Kedai Solong in Ulee Kareng, remains the number one destination when traveling to Banda Aceh.

For me and the people of Aceh to drink coffee is to increase the relationship and inspiration.
