Remember when, on a balmy eve
The stories you told, indeed did weave?
Of how you'd searched over land and shore
For your one true love, yours to adore

Remember wafts of jasmine near
As we declared our love so dear?
Each lingering moment so sweet and true
The deep emotions all so new.

Remember the full moon her light bestowing
Revealing our love in blue eyes glowing?
As we held each other in a warm embrace
I recall the tender look on your face

Remember when we pledged our love
Amid family friends and God above?
We made promises and pleas, all sincere
Our commitment, intentions so very clear

When from each other we did depart?
Every failure I tried to dissect
In the absence of hope and self-respect

Remember all those bitter fights
The sadness, tension and lonely nights?
Remorseful, regretful wasted years
Aching hearts and flowing tears

The feeling of abandonment, oh so strong
Of everything feeling completely wrong

Remember when we decided to meet
In each others company we felt complete?
We made up our mind to try again
Renew our vows - forget the pain
