Abandoned Zhigulevskaya poultry farm

Half a kilometer from the village of Kurumoch is the territory of the former JSC Zhigulevskaya PTF. Turning to its entrance is difficult to pass, it is decorated with sculptures of a cock and a hen. From the factory there is not much left - several whole buildings, a couple of abandoned houses and a huge overgrown territory.

The factory was built in 1957 by Kuibyshevgidrostroy. At that time, it was the largest egg production enterprise in Europe and Russia. The only one of his kind, awarded the highest state award - the Order of Lenin. Hundreds awarded with various orders of workers, among them four had the awards of the Hero of Socialist Labor. In 1991, more than 2,100 people worked here, production volumes were over 300 million eggs. More than the whole province in 2004.

In 2000, at the Zhigulevskaya poultry farm, due to overdue accounts payable, the bankruptcy administration was introduced. The introduction of external management did not greatly affect the revival of the enterprise - in the same year, production at the factory was completely stopped. At that time, no more than 400 people worked at the factory. But the hopes for resuscitation of the poultry farm arose in 2001 - the "Ptitseprom" holding was established, which included four factories in the region. However, this did not help: the poultry farms were coming into an increasingly decay.

JSC Zhigulevskaya poultry farm was put up for sale in early 2008.

In 2009, the area of the former PTF was considered for the construction of warehouses LLC Nestle Russia

In 2010 - it was planned to build an enterprise for the production of building materials

To date, almost all the territory lies in ruins.
