Encaustic Experiment #8, The Sigil Talisman Revisited...SIGILS WORK!!!
I made this Sigil Talisman 6 months ago, or more. I painted the background copper with acrylic and drew on it with sharpie, and did not like it much, until NOW when I worked it up in encaustic, with found metal and oil pastel...
All pieces of metal are glued on with encaustic wax - no glue...

I "randomly" chose the pyramids bottlecap which indicates that the ancient mysteries are at work in my life to bring about what my Heart desires because it is in alignment with the desire of the Creator...
I also randomly chose this 9 of spades bottlecap from my huge collection of rusty bottlecaps because it felt right, to put at the base of my sigil talisman, as it's foundation, I thought, while I was doing it... the Talisman itself which contains items precious to me from childhood, and it it says "I make $300 at least per month from the sale of my art..."
and then looked up 9 of spades online - and found this which says that the 9 of spades birthday is February 3... which is the birthday of my BFF... WOW!!!
How I see this is that I made that talisman, and God through my subconscious mind, has been aligning with the energies to bring the right people into my life to help me... and one of those, is my BFF... I year ago I made sigil and 6 months ago I made this Talisman originally...and that's what I have been experiencing - the sigils take about 6 months to manifest at the long-end...this one a year because I have been blocking myself...
My BFF has brought me to a class which helps me to be able to persevere to my Life Dream, and people to help me...

hey thanks! nice to hear from an actually thoughtful person - yea this was a particularly bizarre experience which I have occasionally - not usually this blatant - but it is a blessing for sure. Wow!
You sound so happy in this post :) The artwork looks like a rocket taking off to me. Maybe it's your artist life rocketing sky high... I hope so.
I was wondering how hard-wearing the wax is. Do the waxed on things come off over time?
unlikely - encaustic technique is thousands of years old - they used to use it on ships in ancient Greece. of course you need to keep it out of direct sunlight... also, you would need to look at my previous 2 posts to see the "bird talisman sigil" I made to see it as a bird. it is a mixture of damar crystals and beeswax. The damar makes it harden over time.
