Hey Steemians AAAddicted!

In what appears to be a post-apocalyptic future, a boy is forced to live in a tent in his own house with purified air, if he goes outside risks suffocating and is subjected to excruciating rashes and pains.

His parents decide to take him to a facility where he can be treated, especially thanks to a very apprehensive mother. Once he arrives in this big old house, Eli starts to see ghosts and talk often with a little girl who comes to see him and with whom he speaks from the house windows.

The doubt that the vision of ghosts is a figment of the imagination remains for most part of the film. The turning point is when the boy discovers that he is only a lab rat and not a patient to be treated, as opposed to what he was told by his mother and the doctor/director of the structure who had guaranteed his recovery.

Eli receives the visit of the ghosts who communicate with him in different ways, he is convinced that it is the children who died before him in that house who tormented him.

Until the end of the film, I found it pleasant and interesting, even if nothing original, originality that would like to arrive at the end but falls into absolute no sense, going with demons and satanic rituals that kill a story, they bring to mind many "why" which is really difficult to give a reasonable explanation.

And so Eli is a mix of horror and paranormal that manages to entertain but also to disappoint, especially in the final, to include the participation of Sadie Sink (Max from Stranger Things) in the role of the girl who goes to visit Eli outside the house, which will not prove to be simply his friend...

Since I'm an endings lover, not the happy ones, I have to admit that I liked the last few minutes of the film that do not promise of anything good, in the end is what we might consider yet another sterile Netflix production, which apparently with regard to films he has decided to focus more on quantity than quality.

In quel che appare essere un futuro post apocalittico un ragazzino é costretto a vivere dentro una tenda in casa propria con aria purificata, se esce al suo estero rischia di soffocare ed é soggetto a sfoghi e dolori lancinanti.

I suoi genitori decidono di portalo in una struttura dove poterlo curare, soprattutto grazie ad una madre molto apprensiva. Una volta arrivato in questa grande e vecchia casa, Eli inizia a vedere fantasmi e parlare spesso con una ragazzina che viene a trovarlo e con la quale parla da una delle finestre della casa.

Il dubbio che la visione dei fantasmi siano frutto o meno della sua fantasia rimane per buona parte del film. La svolta si ha quando il giovane scopre di essere soltanto una cavia da laboratorio e non il paziente da curare, al contrario da quanto dettogli dalla madre e la dottoressa/capo della struttura le quali gli avevano garantito la guarigione.

Eli riceve la visita dei fantasmi i quali comunicano con lui in diverse maniere, egli è convinto che siano i bambini deceduti prima di lui in quella casa a tormentarlo.

Fino al finale il film ho trovato il film di piacevole e interessante anche se nulla di originale, originalità che vorrebbe arrivare alla fine ma cade nell' assurdità assoluta andando a parare su demoni e riti satanici che uccidono una trama fanno venire in mente tanti perché ai quali é davvero difficile dare una spiegazione sensata.

E così Eli si rivela essere un mix tra horror e paranormale che riesce ad intrattenere ma anche a deludere, soprattutto nel finale, da annoverare la partecipazione di Sadie Sink (Max di Stranger Things) nei panni della ragazzina che va a trovarlo al di fuori della casa, la quale non si rivelerà essere semplicemente una sua amica...

Da amante dei finali non a lieto fine devo dire ammettere che mi sono piaciuti gli ultimissimi minuti del film che non lasciano presagire nulla di buono all'orizzonte, nel totale é ormai quello che si potrebbe considerare l'ennesimo film sterile targato Netflix, che a quanto pare riguardo ai lungometraggi ha deciso di puntare più sulla quantità che sulla qualità.
