Poem / In This Moment
In this moment
My heart skips a beat
My chest closes down
My bloody red cheeks
I can feel the heat
A thrilling expression
Of a miraculous progression
Finally out of the friend-zone
At this moment I'm heart attack prone
A new adventure
With the one most desired
She's a visual pleasure
With a charm unable to acquire
A thought that brings my insecurities
To the point where I ask for assurity
I need to know what she's thinking
Before our ship starts sinking
Her words are all I want to hear
She's left me at the pear
I wish I could ask why
My hearts died
Years gone by she still in the back of my mind
I just want to forget our time
I've seen her around
She looks down
She is experiencing heart ache
My soul trembles like an earth quake
She'll be my friend
Hopefully that won't end
I promise never to give her reason
To commit to her and never commit treason
I'll be by her side through her pain
I won't allow her to mess with my brain
She had her chance
We sang our final song
And danced our last dance
I'll just enjoy the moment
While she's here in my arm
Event though there's no commitment
I'll keep her safe from harm

This poem is amazing. My boyfriend (whom I sent this poem) totally agrees with some of the sentiments you have expressed - the friendzone part. This part especially: "She'll be my friend
Hopefully that won't end" - Even though people might fall apart in the romantic sense, they should never ever stop being friends because of that.

I like the pun :D but that's how poetry is, you either like it or not. The authors usually don't care if people think of it negatively, It's an expression of emotion that is therapeutic :)

Another very deep moment shared by you. At first it gave me a sense of love then loss and hurt and then a profound realization that such experiences teach us to learn from it and move forward. But the most important thing is experiencing the growth, acceptance, forgiveness of the past and building upon it so that your can appreciate the now. I am not that much into love poems, though I did experiment with them myself lately. However, this might be one of the best ones I ever seen!
