Wandering thru all the alleys at a 200+ years old community in Bangkok!

In Thailand, nowadays, they have been promoting hard about places for people to go visit. Grab, an Uber like app, just did a campaign giving some discount to users who travel to certain places in Bangkok. Kudichin Community was one of them so what were we waiting for? Nothing! We suddenly just went there! LOLOL
Kudichin
I had actually heard of it for quite a bit but never really looked into it. Once I did, IT JUST WOWED ME! This Portuguese- Thai community has been in Bangkok, Thailand and live here generations and generations for more than 200 years!
Now you may wonder, why it's Portuguese - Thai?
It's some part of the history when European countries started to come into Thailand (that time I believe it's still called 'Siam') and Potugal was one of the countries and at some point they were given this piece of land to live on. They continued living for generations and still here till now.
Though, let's just not go so far back then LOL
Santa Cruz Church
Since Kudichin is best known for the Catholic community, it's just not possible to avoid visiting the beautiful Catholic Church they have right by the Chao Phraya River. Unfortunately, it's closed at the time we went there. Uh oh!
Though, Outside is dang pretty already!
After a few snaps with the Santa Cruz church, we went check out the the river as it's literally just right by each other. We're surprise they had something we didn't really expect. The long walk way by the river! Would be such a romantic place to come walk with your beloved one. Awwww :)
Kudichin Community
As mention earlier, they have been living here for more than 200+ years. I'm not so sure how did they like to live in the past but what I see, they built these small litte house next to each other with a small walk way and all the alleys just enough for a person or two to walk through at a time.
One of the walls is one of the landmarks.. No, not that pretty but you know, it's one of the landmarks! so I wouldn't mind having a photo with it LOL. Though! if you look at it again, it's actually have some stories on the wall.. All the places around the community, the cultures and some details had been drawn onto it. That's kinda cool, I guess.
Shops and restaurants..
A few of the houses runs a small family business at their houses. Besides the famous snacks / sweet (which we will talk about it a little later), there're some cafes and the one and only museum in the community.
Like, these ones that we came across. A small super local style coffee shop that had a few seats and table to offer but it looked so cute somehow. The price was really local price.
This one I also found cute but didn't give it a go because we had food a bit earlier. It's a restaurant! Inside also got just a few seats as they didn't have much space themselves.
A friend and I enjoyed the walk so much even though the weather was just so dang hot (of course, it's Thailand!) because all we saw was actually so new to us. This is not something you would see normally elsewhere in Bangkok or even other provinces outside the capital..
So yes, if you're already in Bangkok, I sure do recommend you come spend time here for a few hours and absorb all these charming cultures they have here.
