INFORMATION FINDING CHALLENGE ROUND 21 TIE BREAKER: A MARIE SPEAKS

As a result of a tie between I and @amariespeaks in the Information Finding Championship Round 21, both of us have been requested to submit a piece in the same genre as the genre used in round 21, which is poetry. This time though, we are to write a poem for and about each other. 😂 Well I could not deny them, so I have this piece below as my entry for the tie breaker. I hope it's nice though @amariespeaks?

A MARIE SPEAKS

---

She sighed on my eyelids;
"Come within and see truth,
Come and spy the earth
Open her limbs to tomorrow,
Come and hear birdsong on lethargic leaves.
Come within and see."

Shadows and smoke swirled
Beneath my eyelids and a castle
Grew from ripe soil and pictures of
Masked dancers gliding like oil,
Floating through space, veils
Hiding long limbs and sweat kissed skin
Caressed the warm walls of turreted banisters.
"Turn away from them and come."
Her whisper nibbled at my heels
And I twisted within the castle's numerous shadows,
Another lost soul seeking truth.

The grass grew green here
And her words spoke to my soul,
Breathing life within parchments and arcane scrolls,
Hanging from flower boughs
That scented of heaven and of pain.
A nymph beckoned and a siren rose
From a fountain, winked at me,
Grabbed rosy breasts and invited rest.
"Come, do not be bewitched by them", she muttered
And as if in a dream, my feet sought paths
That appeared from the haze,
From the smoky evening breeze.

My feet found a tent,
Black pitch poured on its skin like candle wax.
Two squirrels muttered over nuts,
A doe sat cross legged on the meadow
Munching, deep in thought.
A hand pushed aside the star
Streaked curtain and beckoned me in.
I entered and there she was;

The redheaded fire that burnt
Between each hiss of breath beneath my ribs.
There she was, the whispered voice
That had called me from distant lands
To seek truth within the hazy maze of this dream.
"Sit", she said and I did.
"I am Marie and I will speak truth."
She breathed, her eyes shadowed in kohl.
She spread the cards in a fan,
Tossed red ringlets from her face,
Opened her eyes and then she whispered;
"Witness."
