G'Day Steemit! I'm Sean Ross, a Business Information Systems student and IT security enthusiast

in #introduceyourself6 years ago (edited)

Hi all, quick little intro about myself:
I'm 23, in my last semester of my Bachelor of Business: Business Information Systems with a minor in Risk and Security Management at RMIT. Looking to finish my degree and move into the IT security industry, currently working for Bambora performing software patches for Caltex Service Stations. Developing my understanding of penetration testing as well as server architecture and network security but would like to get into blockchain security as well.
Outside of that I play rhythm guitar and vocals in a heavy metal band, the most applicable genre would be Stoner/Doom. My current strategem is to buy as much ethereum as possible and HODL until it takes it rightful place above bitcoin. I'd like to think I know a reasonable amount about the cryptosphere but then again I bought bitcoin at $80 and sold it at $250 so what do I know.
Big shoutout to my cousin @mattclarke! for putting me onto Steem in the first place, looking forward to getting stuck into Steemit, meeting new people and learning heaps of new stuff.

I see Matt is planning a Steemit take over! Just when we thought the whole family was already here he's rallying more family troops. 😆

Looks like he might have forgot to tell you to add the #teamaustralia tag.

watch out for the ClarkeCoin ICO.

Hello, Sean, and Welcome to Steemit.

Being a IT bonehead, I probably know less about bitcoin, ethereum, and cryptos in general. But I'm convinced that they will each increase in value greatly over the next few years.

To what extent and in what relation remains to be seen. But as fiat money descends to its true value, cryptos will definitely rise.

Below are a few basic points of advice re posting on Steemit.
1 – Longer posts are more lucrative than short posts. If you make a post of 20–30 paragraphs, it's more likely to earn rewards.
2 – Include some photos, images or graphs, to complement the text.
3 – Make sure the text and photos are formatted properly, so that your post looks attractive and appealing.
4 – Be yourself.
5 – Be interesting and informative.
6 – Create quality content. Steemit is intended to be a platform of quality content. (You will see many insignificant posts with meager content and no quality. Most of those of posts [called “shitposts” by Steemit whale Stellabelle] will earn few rewards and soon pass into oblivion.)
7 – Get online and start curating. Read various posts, comment on those posts you find interesting, and upvote those posts. That’s the best way to attract followers.

Hope this helps for now. Good luck, and Full Steem Ahead!
