My entry to "What does today mean to you? 2:36" - Baking time.

Apparently it is baking day.

If you read this you know why.

I started early which means at 7 am and by now (4 hours later) I am still not finished baking.
I struggle with an oven that gives me a hard time and I need to check every 10 minutes if it comes to its temp. Once it was set at fire.
Altogether,the baking took way longer as expected although I tried to save time by putting two baking molds in it at the same time.

It did not save me time nor gas. Today my oven's temp keeps dropping for a change.

What did I bake so far?
What you are looking at is all cake but the ingredients are not the same.

Cake with peaches.

• 200 grams of sugar
• 120 grams sunflower oil
• 100 grams of oatmeal flakes
• salt
• baking powder
• 2 eggs
• water
• peach slices (canned in syrup)

I put this one in the oven first later I shove the cake at the right to it.

Cake with almond

The ingredients are:

• 250 grams of sugar
• 120 ml sunflower oil
• 2 eggs
• 250 grams flour
• baking powder
• salt
• water
• almond flavor

As you can see I use baking paper in the mold.
My molds are old, some are bad quality, this way I save myself using butter and flour and it is easy to lift the cake out of it._

Cake with raisins.

Ingredients:

• 50-100 grams oatmeal flakes
• raisins
  (both I soaked in warm water first)
• 200 grams of sugar
• 120 ml sunflower oil
• 200 grams flour
• salt
• baking powder
• water

no eggs!

Just throw everything in a bowl, stir it well and it is ready to go into the oven. No need to mix it for minutes etc. Keep it simple.

I have peaches left!

Yesterday I decided not to open a can and use some of the rice porridge because I had no intention to bake...

I decided to bake something extra.
Not for school but my children. It annoys me I keep them short on food and next I bake to feed the fat people at school.

I made a chocolate cake with the left peaches on top.

Chocolate cake with peaches.

Ingredients:

• 200 grams sugar (it's a bit less I am out of sugar)
• 120 ml sunflower oil
• 50-100 grams oatmeal flakes
• 200 grams flour
• salt
• baking powder
• cocoa (I added till it looked dark and tasted like dark chocolate).
• water
• peaches

Good to know

• If you do not have oatmeal flakes do not use it.
• Instead of peaches, you can use other fruit too.
• Instead of oil, you can use butter.
• Instead of water, you can use milk.
• You can use eggs (3-4 is common) but you can skip them too.
• You can add vanilla sugar or let it be if it's not available.
• You can bake without baking powder/baking soda if you do not have it too.
• Some cakes taste great right out of the oven, others better if they are cold or even one day old.

This one is still in the oven and needs about 20 more minutes.
