Mainstream media has always hated, feared, and misunderstood bitcoin. BTC might have made it to the front pages, but the reporting of it remains as dumb as ever.

Judging from the most eye-catching headlines from two separate hearings on Capitol Hill Wednesday, it's tempting to conclude there has been little of it from U.S. regulators and legislators in their comprehension of cryptocurrencies these past five years.

In fact, Rep. Brad Sherman's laughable suggestion during a House Financial Services Committee hearing in the house that the U.S. ban mining and purchases of bitcoin could suggest we've gone backward since bitcoin was first discussed in Congress in the fall of 2013.

🗞 South Korea’s Crypto Regulation Shakeup: New Bureau, Agreement With China

South Korea’s top financial regulator is planning a major organizational restructuring that includes introducing some new crypto policy initiatives. A bureau dedicated to financial innovations that include cryptocurrencies is being set up. In addition, an agreement with Chinese authorities relating to crypto and initial coin offerings has also been reached. Meanwhile, the contracts between Korean crypto exchanges and banks for real-name accounts will expire this month.

🗞 Ethereum Payment Channel Raiden Launches New Testnet

Nearly two years after the release of its first proof of concept, the Ethereum payment channel Raiden has launched a second testnet. According to the project's announcement, Raiden sees this testnet as an opportunity to work out a few "minor issues," and screen for any remaining bugs before its promised mainnet Red Eyes release.

Published on July 19, the UK Law Commission's 2017-2018 Annual Report details the authority's work throughout the year and its various recommendations for legal reform. Included in this year's review is a section dedicated to EDCCs (also called smart contracts). Because of the numerous advancements and news coverage relating to EDCCs, the independent agency expects the contracts to be increasingly utilized by businesses to execute legal contracts. The support line in orange is helping us to go in the direction of the resistance line at 1.50$. The market will have soon to decide in which direction he want go. Let's hope that the BTC will help us to break the resistance line in Brown as we will be able to use after as support to go back in the 2$.
