You created your account and finally you received your confirmation email. First things first: Backup your Password. The security of your account is quite important, hence you are going to vest time, effort and probably steem into it. So make sure you have it backed-up properly.

Posting wise: it's quite advisable to avoid writing couple of phrases (especially meaningless ones such as: Good morning steemit'', ''Who is here today?'' etc; and then bombard it with bidbots the available advertising tools . Otherwise, feel free to unleash your creativity.

Support wise, there are few things you can use, to help you on your journey:

1. @minnowsupport - They have built a project that provides minnows with upvotes on their posts, whatever the topic or the post, as it's mission is to accelerate minnow growth.
2. @poetsunited - Is a community driven by the love of poetry. So if you are composing, this is your place. You also get supported with upvotes.
3. @steemitcentral - They are looking for posts to curate mainly in the areas of cryptocurrency and general steemit tips or promotion. So if you're into crypto writing, make sure you use their tag to find yours after posting.
4. @trojanwall - As their introduction states: ''We are a group of authors who support each other in our goal to get noticed.'' .
5. And last but not the least, @steembasicincome . Steembasicincome is a project that is offering a regular income (an upvote for every post one publishes on this platform) - the upvote it's given to a person that has a share in the program. A share one can have either by buying in (1steem) or by others sponsoring them (usually through kindness or through a contest as a prize).

Some updates - improvements and direction of steemit

• First things first: HF20

In this Post , @steemitblog was talking about the intense efforts they're doing for the HF20 to be released much faster . For that, many of those efforts were focused towards completely rewriting the bandwidth system, as of creating a new one based on the allocated resources, and is called RC or Resource Credits. Please check the link for more in-depth infos.

And they keep rolling!

After one month only, from the adoption of the new system, @steemitblog comes back to take a critical look at the progress they've made, and comparing the old with the new and showing the strengths they aim for and succeeded in. (much more detailed view, here

After another month, @netuoso comes up at the mic and cracks up on the full array of changes that the HF20 brings up with it. And it ranges from the above mentioned Resource Credits to account creation, dust votes, curation, SBD and so on. , we finally brought the star of the night, that we've all been waiting for . The TESTNET !

Eleven days ago, on 25th of August to be more precise, the Hardfork 20 Testnet has been released :D . What a joy!! And it should be of course, considering how BIG this is for Steemit. Why? Because an important tool is added to the developer’s toolbox, which will make it much much easier for them to build and then test their applications in a proper risk-free environment. More than that guys, what is a Hardfork, benefits, the importance of the Testnet and many other goodies, right here on this Link .

All of this, wouldn't have been possible without the relentless efforts of @netuoso , @steemitblog and other heroes unknown yet to us, we'd call them: the blockchain team . Let us show them our support and attention and keep them on our votes on the witnesses list. So, a Big Thank you for that .

DTube - Open-SOurce?

OKay, so DTube seems to be high on horses and plans to deliver big time . It brings up to the game a whole lot of new things which were highly requested by the users before, and now they get served. This update brings up a focus towards many features that not only will enhance the user experience but also will make the platform much more similar to the mainstream video platforms. Though before continuing any further, let's address the elephant in the room: DTube is now fully open-sourced !! Yes it is,and it's just great news for developers and for the users and the future users as this will only increase even more mass-adoption .

So, what are they bringing aboard? The main ones reffer to the most wanted live streaming and the steem private messaging. I won't get very technical about it, only brushing up on various updates. Though you can check @heimindanger's post, where he's detailing about this way better and in-depth. Also he's got many other great and informative writings, so, happily scroll further on the page :) .

Together for Open-Source success and innovation

Fundition has announced about a month ago, a collaboration and partnership with Utopian.io, as an initiative to utilize the Steem blockchain to incentivize open source development collaborations . For those who don't know, Fundition is a decentralized, peer-to-peer crowdfunding and collaboration platform, and Utopian a platform that rewards those who contribute to Open Source projects, and it does so by utilizing a decentralised, vote-based reward system built on top of the STEEM Blockchain. As having similar visions, probably felt like a natural step to merge and provide to the community the best of both, under the same roof . Feel free to provide your appreciation and support to both @utopian-io and @fundition and check up their community driven posts .

Speaking of communities, let us complete the trinity with the Oracle-D platform. What is it? It's a business initiative which aims to pair content creators with investors in STEEM, thus resulting in bringing in millions of dollars worth of investments into the STEEM ecosystem. How? That's possible by creating a collaborative partnership with prominent, well-funded projects and companies, and especially with those involved in the blockchain sphere. All this is now possible thanks to @starkerz, @anarcotech, and a quite skilled team of developers . @oracle-d has recently started a Fundition Campaign in order to support their travel expenses for live appearances at various major blockchain shows all around the world, to attract more investors and spread the joy of being part of such a community. I think they are in Jakarta at the moment, or something like that, i'm not completely sure now; but, feel free to check their blog for more details about the campaign .

Smart Media Tokens

Although i tried to make this post as short possible, looks like the amount of content i put in, still stretches on quite a few long pages. That's why i want to thank to the readers that stood committed up until now, and continue to do so till the end (which is only a bit left, as of now, to reach it).

As @steemitblog mentioned in his article, they are now able to focus on delivering the Smart Media Tokens . The SMT's are a token that's similar to ERC20s on Ethereum, but with all the properties enabled by the Steem blockchain, like three-second fee-less transfers. SMT's will enable anyone to launch their own STEEM-like token with customizable features . There's going to be a release of the TestNet in January 2019 along with a release and launch of the protocol on the MainNet in March 2019, in Jan and Mach .

Conclusion

Now, all i've presented to you above is true and 100% verifiable . It is crystal clear that hard efforts are being poured every day into further and faster development of the steem blockchain and the applications built on top of it . And all of these are not in vain, the results truly speak for themselves . And not just the results, but the sleepless developers, the relentless writers, the positive investors, and the persistent steemians and many more. We can't deny that steem is the fastest evolving blockchain, and the new RC system in the 20th Hardfork will enable for even faster improvements, and the user on-boarding process should and will become, way faster and more reliable on SteemIt, leading thus to a spectacular growth of new users.

All of this, only leaves me with a glass of champagne raised in the name of STEEM Blockchain . Through it, we have united in purpose, which lead to these amazing result.
