Dailypetphotography : Mummy got me a new ball...and I ate it...
Hi all!
You know what happens when you don't bring your dog to the pet store to pick the new toy? You get the wrong one!
Mummy made that mistake, she went all alone to petsmart trying to surprise me with a new ball, and the results were bad.
You see, at first this ball seemed just fine, very colorful, right size for my mouth and bouncy. Yippie! But, mummy did not realize that most of my other balls are very hard and resistant, like my Kong which I absolutely love. This ball was made of a very soft and chewable rubber plastic.
It was no surprise and no mistake on my part, let us be clear on that, that as soon as mummy gave me my new ball, I knew it was meant to be eaten. So, I ate it, well, just half, mummy got to me before I was able to eat it all.
Yes, in just 10 minutes without supervision, I did something that really upset mummy. I had destroyed other toys in the past, but I usually destroy, chew and spit, I don't know why I ate this ball, it did had a nice smell to it, so this time it was destroy, chew and swallow.
So mummy sees me and:
- Mummy gets angry
- Mummy gets worried as she tries to find the other half ball
- Mummy panics realizing I ate it
- Mummy makes some phone calls
- Mummy gets all emotional and hugs me
- Mummy gets upset again
- Mummy starts blaming herself (finally, I mean it was not my fault!) and hugs me again
Mummy made a few mistakes: first, she knows me, I am very active and sometimes destructive (in a good way mind you) dog and most of my toys are hardy and resistant. Then she left me unsupervised for ten minute, yes, it was in just ten minutes that I committed the terrible act.
So, in case you were wondering, next day mummy had to check all of my poo and voila, there it was, the rest of the ball!
Before buying a toy for your dog, choose wisely based on his character and do not leave him alone without supervision specially with a new toy. Let that be a lesson to all.

Coco had a history of destroying toys. She also destroyed both pairs of eyeglasses.
She loved playing frisbee, but would eat them if when given a chance.
I am happy to hear that Enyo pooped out the plastic. Apparently dogs love to eat dental floss (it has human saliva on it). I hear that dental floss can tie colons in knots.
I hope there are no ill consequences related to this event.
Fortunately no! It's the first time he actually eats a toy. It was quite scary really.
I am sure Coco had fun destroying the toys lol, but it can be a problem if they eat them! Thank you for reading :) Enyo sends kisses.
