My Girlfriends Personal Story: The Young Little Girl

Who doesn't love a good old poem, right!?

Well, it turns out my girlfriend recently published a few of her magnificent pieces to the world.
She is really awesome at putting her past struggles into words and becoming stronger by it.
Soo.. With her consent!
I thought my second post should be a poem about one of my girlfriends personal story!

There are days where I feel like a stranger
I stare at my reflection
But I don't recognize a thing
So I hold myself back
Hoping it can serve as protection

There are days where I'm angry
My heart is charred from my internal fire
Because my desires
They are left unfulfilled
But I keep the flame hidden
Because showing my weakness
is always forbidden

There are days where I'm numb
no emotions can be expressed
so I lay In bed
and wish I were someone else

Those girls that seem to live
picture perfect lives
getting everything they've ever
dreamed of
No one to cast darkness on
their sunshine

But my candle light flickers
The slightest breeze puts the flame out
I wish I could hold a torch
Instead of this melting candle
The dripping wax burning my hands
But what can I do?
If this is destiny's plan

Some days I feel lonely in this
big, empty world
Even though my friends
and family are around me
I feel as if I'm alone
For no one truly understands
this mind of mine
It's complex and strong
Yet sensitive and sometimes wrong

Some days I wish
I were separated from these thoughts
Let me be oblivious
And live my simple life

But we can't see in the darkness of the night
So this melting candle must stay
For I cannot wander without it
So with it, I must stay
