Recipe: Peanut Choco Crunchies

This is a recipe for the not allergic to peanut people. A recipe choc full of wonder and awe that my mother used to make. This recipe will show you just what life is really worth living for. I originally found this recipe on cutoutandkeep.net but the recipe was missing all but one measurement for the ingredients.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 2 Cups of BROWN SUGAR
  • 1 Cup of SMOOTH PEANUT BUTTER
  • 1 Cup of MILK
  • 12 TBSP COCOA POWDER
  • 3 Cups of PORRIDGE OATS (doesn’t matter if it’s one minute or normal oats)

DIRECTIONS:

STEP 1:
Put oats into a bowl and microwave the peanut butter for one minute (I just use a microwaveable measuring cup). Add the warm liquid peanut butter to the oats and mix well .

STEP 2:
In a sauce pot combine milk, brown sugar, and cocoa powder. Note: Add milk first, let it warm up a bit and then add the brown sugar and cocoa powder. Stir until everything is mixed.

STEP 3:
Pour chocolate mixture into the bowl of oats and peanut butter and mix everything together real good.

STEP 4:
Before it cools down use a small spoon to make little balls. You can try to make them nice and round or just make messy balls. Let cool for 10-15 minutes.

My mother used to make these every now and then and since I haven’t lived at home with her for a long time now, I totally forgot about them. Now I have rediscovered them and have introduced them to my baby’s daddy! Let’s just say they don’t stick around long when I’ve made a batch.
An old roommate of ours says that they call them Frogs over there. I pity anyone with a peanut allergy, because these are simply the most wonderful treats I’ve ever tasted.

It looks really good. Thanks for sharing the recipe. I just got one question though. What if someone doesn't really like peanuts, is there any other nuts that can be used?
