Utopia: "One World-One Nation"

Hi Steemians,

last weekend I took part in a seminar for 2 days with the big topic "Europe - how much longer will it last?". There was a lot of input and discussions about several subjects, for example the current Situation in Europe, right-wing populism/extremism and the Brexit of UK.

It was very interesting and inspiring but it's sad to see that we have so much problems only within the EU!

During the whole weekend I thought about the possibility of a world with only one nation. Like we know it from Star Wars or Guardians of the Galaxy with planets like Naboo or Alderaan. Yes i know these are science-fiction-movies but i love the vision that you visit a new planet and it's ONE planet.

By know it's an utopia to think we can act like one world. We can't even solve big problems like the climate change. So what do we need to start cooperation?

A collective Enemy

As I started with Star Wars in the beginning, lets stay there. Imagine there is a big Death Star with focus on the earth. Let's say it will arrive in 5 years and then destroy our planet like it does in Star Wars IV with Alderaan. Don't you think all local and "world-internal" differences would become unimportant and we would work together as one earth to fight back? I do. Not even Donald Trump could say "The Death Star isn't real" when it blows away his home.

Yes, i know it's not very optimistic to believe we need a nearly apocalypse to become one world. But i think it's the only way to let the humans forget about "little problems" like religion, economic growth and which politician has the biggest balls. If you're very religious, i'm sorry, but i'm not and we're talking about my utopia :D
Even if religion plays a big role in your life - aren't all religious almost the same? They're all like a code of ethics and so is the religion: humanism. I think we could come to an agreement that everybody can believe what he wants. But that should not be a reason for disunity.

Avoid Districts

Let's close the chapter with Star Wars and let's say we won the battle against the Death Star. Now we need to avoid to fall back in old disputes, to stay together as one world. Yesterday I had a short discussion with @akashas about bringing the same standard of living to all people over the world. I was a little pessimistic because i don't believe humans are willing to share enough. But she wrote it's just a matter of thinking and believing and that we already have the resources. So let's believe we all will reduce our standard of living, so that we can have the same standard for everyone without a collapse for the natural environment or a cardiac arrest for the world.
Then we still need to prevent the forming of districts like we have it in The Hunger Games. Our world is big and resources are not fairly distributed. We need to prevent a district for workers and another district for the rich. When the whole world is one nation we should spread the resources to everyone. But also spread every new technology or idea. Nobody should have an advantage over anybody else. Why should they? We are one world!

Culture / Language

As religion is only a small part of the several cultures on this planet let's write about that. Of course there are different cultures on this planet but there's nothing to be said against it. As long as everybody is tolerant and there are law's and rules for the whole world (which don't affect the local culture) this should be no critical issue. In every religion/culture there are fools which claim their belief is the real deal. They can have their own little island on which they can live in anger when they want it so bad.

Regarding the global language.. i'm fine with English. Excuse me for some mistakes in grammar or writing ;). In Germany you learn English in school now from the very beginning.

Closing Words

These are only some thoughts of me. I know we can't compare the world to Star Wars or The Hunger Games. I also know that the political subjects are more difficult and not all people are the same or want the same.

But what i really believe is, that we can't solve our global problems when every country or union acts on their own. We should not move back in our local stronghold when something doesn't work as expected.
