This is my entry for this week's Feathered Friday challenge organized by @melinda010100
Glossy Ibis.(Plegadis Falcinellus) Threskiornithidae. When viewed in poor light or in shadows the feathers of the Glossy Ibis appear to be very dark, almost black, but when in good light their plumage take on rich iridescent hues with appealing tinges of green and purple.
The Glossy Ibis are different from other ibis species because they do not forage or scavenge around rubbish bins and farmlands. Instead, they prefer wading in mud and shallow wetlands areas looking for aquatic invertebrates.
They are characterized by their long distinctive bills which are olive brown in colour. Their facial areas have a blue-grey appearance. Their diet consists of frogs, snails, aquatic insects and spiders. Glossy ibis build platforms of sticks for their nests and use aquatic plants to complete them.
They build their nests between upright branches of trees or shrubs which grow in water and will often breed with other ibis species and water birds in small colonies.
Congratz, your post has been resteemed and, who knows, will maybe appear in the next edition of the #dailyspotlights (Click on my face if you want to know more about me...)

Thank you Melinda. I was really happy to see these lovely Ibis as we have heaps of the white ones in our area but not this type. They were a bit far away so I was glad have a decent lens on my camera.
They look really nice. You're right that only under correct illumination the different tonalities on their feathers can be noticed. Here in Venezuela lives a similar bird but it is pink and light red.
They are called red ibis (more info about them). But, I have had no time recently... Working (or studying) 24/7 is all I have written in my schedule, so I have no idea if I will get the chance to have one that close to take good shots some time soon. There was a park in Caracas which has a restaurant in the middle of an artificial lake, there I used to rat with my family some snacks when visiting the park and lots of this colored friends roamed all around fetching food from the water or waiting for people to throw some food at them.
What a stunning bird Trudee and your shots are absolutely magnificent. The light was just right so the colors of his feathers are perfectly visible. Well done my Dear 💖😍💖
Hi @redheadpei, this is a very different colour ibis to the white ones in my area of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. We have such a diverse world and it its wonderful.

What beautiful feathers! I love the colors..I can see where it would look black when it wasn't in the sunlight. Great photos and info!

Great shots of the distinctive looking bird. I like the rich brown color of the feathers and curved beak.
Thanks so much Jo for your wonderful support and resteem. I'd like to see them in full sunlight as these Ibis were in the shade mostly.

Many thanks for your welcome visit @joelsegovia Are the birds you are referring to flamingos or are they pink Ibis? I'd love to see them. 😊
