Food Sharing #65 - Bavarian Bier Cafe @ Parramatta, Sydney
Hi Steemians,
I don’t usually drink beer but went to the Bavarian Bier Cafe at Parramatta for a Sydney Steemit meet-up a few months ago. The Bavarian Bier Cafe is a German beer cafe famous for their alcohol and Germany food. There are a few branches in Sydney and I used to go to the one in the City and Circular Quay (work functions). The branch we visited that day was at Parramatta in Sydney West which was a central location for most people. Street parking was pretty easy to find or alternatively, you can walk from the station. We were there on the weekend for lunch and there were not many people there surprisingly.
Let's have a look at the menu. Lots of yummy German food to choose from and of course a huge variety of beers.
We ordered 3 platters which was enough for around 10 people as the servings were pretty big. 2 tall towers of beers, some wine, various shots and ciders (for the girls). Normally I would get some pretzels (I love them!) but there were just too much food! The platters consist of various Germany specialties like sausages, schnitzels, pork belly, mash etc. Literally it was meat, meat and meat. I was driving that day so I left it to the other guys as I was happy with the cider.
The interior of the restaurant was very spacious with a high ceiling. Depending on the time you go, there is happy hour daily between 4-6pm for various alcoholic drinks. The price - only $5!!! Overall the food here is really exceptional and the service is better than the one in the city in my opinion, probably because we were there on the weekend. The prices of the food is not bad considering the sizes of the platters were pretty big - you can share a platter for 1 between two people so we used this ratio to order our food that day. The alcohol prices I can’t really comment as I am not a drinker but from the happy hour price, I thought it was very reasonable considering it is in a nice venue with a few choices. If you are a beer lover, do check the Bavarian Bier Cafe.
