Tarot Tuesday weekly reading for August 20th 2019

Happy Tarot Tuesday, everyone! Welcome to another one of my free weekly tarot card readings. I've been doing these for a few years now, and they are by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today, the reading is for the week of August 20th 2019.

My readings are a little bit different than some other readers on other social media platforms (although it's by no means original - I was actually inspired by a couple other WordPress bloggers) so here's a brief explanation about how this whole thing works...

First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three!

After you've decided on your card or cards, you scroll down the page for photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.

Oh, and don't be worried if you don't happen to see this on the exact day. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊

I would also like to point out, just so's ya know...

Now, it's time to get started with your week of August 20th 2019 reading. Here is a photo of the backs of the cards for this week (yes, it's a new picture each week). Take a moment to focus, then look at the photo to decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. When you're ready, scroll down to the bottom of the post for your message.

Next up, as a bit of insurance policy to make sure you don't see the picture of the front of the cards before you've made your choice, I'm putting a graphic here as a type of spacer/spoiler prevention. Since hubby hurt his shoulder and is out of work for at least the rest of the month, money has been on our minds lately. I thought this would be a good time to revist this simple money spell by Scott Cunningham, from his book Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner

 
 

 
 
Time now to reveal the front of the cards! Here's the picture...

...and my interpretations/messages for each card is...

1. Ten of Pentacles

Success is at hand. Good things are coming for you – you might find more money coming in (like a raise at work), an improved living situation (even as simple as a new piece of furniture), or an overall positive atmosphere in your home. This card also means that not all wealth is material – having a family (not necessary related by blood) and friends can enrich your life as well, if not better, than money itself. You’ve either found your tribe, or you’re about to, and it will be like coming home.

Tarot Tidbit: The Ten of Pentacles was last spotted, also in the first position, way back at the beginning of the year, on January 22nd, 2019.

2. Queen of Pentacles

Nurture your dreams. Sometimes it's hard to hang on to your vision for a brighter future, especially when it seems everything is going wrong and everyone is against you. But with a little confidence in yourself, and a lot of positive attitude, you can do this! Be the supportive and caring motherly type for your own self for a change, and keep in mind (as the saying goes), “Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream.”

Tarot Tidbit: The Queen of Pentacles was last spotted, in the third position, back in the spring on March 26th, 2019. It also happened to be the very first time the Queen of Pentacles made an appearance on a Tarot Tuesday! Which is interesting to note, given the third card today...

3. King of Cups

Calm, cool, collected. There's been a great deal of drama in your life as of late, and the King is here to remind you that you can have emotions, but you are in control of them, not the other way around. See how he manages to keep his cup steady, even in the stormiest seas? He's mastered the art of expressing feelings in a calm and mature manner. The logical mind and the intuitive heart can work together successfully, if you practice enough. And keep in mind, like Incubus says in Drive, "...lately I am beginning to find/That I should be the one behind the wheel."

Tarot Tidbit: This is the very first time the King of Cups has made an appearance on a Tarot Tuesday!
