Another Wicked Wayback Wednesday Walk from June 18th 2016
Here's another Wicked Wayback Wednesday Walk! Just like last week, and a few weeks prior, I'm dipping back into my archives. This particular set is from June 18th 2016, and were taken in our Durham, NH yard (which happens to be right next to something like 700 acres of conservation woods, which is why we get so many cool visitors).
Hopefully soon I can get out and do a proper, new walk. Just waiting on a time that the weather and my body are cooperating at the same time. So, definitely before 2020...probably... 😉😊
I did use a couple of these shots for a Foto Friday post back then, but the rest of the eleven shots have only been seen by our landlady, since I always email her all my finished photos from around the property.
Speaking of wandering, don't forget to wannder on over to @tattoodjay's latest post, called Wednesday walk challenge Riverside Park and Steem Basic Income Give away which features some awesome woodsy and sunny shots from the park on the West Side of Manhattan, NYC. His first shot is particularly magical, in my humble opinion. 😊
Now, on to my shots!
Great Crested Flycatcher (identified by another, blurry shot) coming in for a landing
Hawk flyby
Daylily, possibly a Stella D'oro
Rover Bellflowers
Raindrops on roses
Rainy Daisy
Rainy Spiderwort
Rainy Sundrops (also known as Narrowleaf Evening Primrose)
Rose Bloom
Pileated Woodpecker...
...looking for an afternoon snack.
Happy walking & see you next week!

What a lovely walk! Every time a woodpecker is in one of my trees it’s either too high or the light is not right to get a decent photo of one.

Thank you, @violetmed! I used to have the same problem, but we've been spoiled by the woodpeckers (and other wildlife) since we rented this place. Appreciate you stopping by!
That's really a wonderful woodpecker. The woodpeckers were I live are experts on hiding so I don't get any pictures of them, I only hear them pecking.

I've been really lucky that our woodpeckers seem to like to show off! LOL! And thanks so much, @ernstboe!

Great stash of pictures to have in the archives for days like this! I took all of my Wednesday Walk photos while sitting on my scooter with the back door open, looking out at the rain. Thanks so much for the resteem.
Thanks, @melinda010100, and you got an amazing variety of shots just from your porch! And you're very welcome!
the only thing i maybe would have known the name of is the Woodpecker, and maybe the daisy
but all such beautiful shot
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk !tip
I got a bit obsessed a couple years ago with finding the names of the birds, flowers, mushrooms...LOL! And thanks for the compliments, and the tip, dear sir!
First off no need to ever call me sir, anything else but sir, LOL
I can remember phone number so people from 40 years ago, but remembering names of flowers and such is just something I struggle with
Kinda reminds me of what my late father used to say - "Call me anything, but don't call me late to dinner." 😂
And I completely get that - only reason I knew how to caption the flowers is because I'd used the names as the file names. Half of the flowers I've identified I've forgotten their names, and the other half I can't remember... 😉 😂
LOL MY dad used to say the same thing :)
As for Sir, I think its because I was in the military for 12 years and never an officer, and Iit just grated with me we had to call them Sir LOL
I am glad its just not me that can't remember flower names I should remember to do that and add a tag to the files when I do find the name of a flower ;)
Yeah, I can totally see that. I just like the phrases, "Good (or kind) sir" and "Dear lady" 😂 😜
A little trick I learned to is label the flowers something like, "Yellow flower, aka buttercup" so I can search my files for "yellow flower" and usually find the name again. Then everyone thinks I'm wicked smaht! 😊
Thanks thats a good tip, I keep my photos in Lightroom, so will need to tag them there, once I share a photo I generally delete it off my photo folders, well the exported one not the original
and as far as Sir and Lady go I am fine with it really, but more to others than to me lOL
