The sea accounts for 71% of our blue planet, and we rely heavily on it for the continuation of our lives. Many people are unaware of the great benefits that God has given us in these waters. Some believe that the sea is only used for fish and other livestock, or But this belief is wrong, and for this reason we would like to show the benefits that lie in these seas and how they can be exploited so that we know the importance of preserving them from pollution.

The benefits of the sea and ways to exploit it

• Livestock Production: The Arab world alone accounted for 2.7 million tons of fishing in 2000, and the world production in 2005 was 93,253,346 million tons. This statistic includes fish, crustaceans and molluscs, which account for 20% of the protein consumed worldwide.

• Shipping: The sea carries about 90% of the world's cargo. The economic benefit of shipping is $ 2.1 trillion per year.

• Clean energy: Studies show that potential sea-produced energy is about 90,000 terawatt per year of waves, ocean currents, tidal movement, and temperature variations between the bottom and the surface. This figure is likely to be produced in the future, but the US Department of Energy Released a report on global consumption of hydropower, which reached 0.995 terawatt.

• Therapeutics: Many medicinal drugs consist of marine extracts, such as pearls, sponges, and seaweeds.

• Military sphere: The sea is widely used in military operations throughout the world. Non-living natural resources: Many minerals, salts and heavy water are extracted from the sea.

• Tourism and recreation: This benefit brings a lot of money to some countries because of its beautiful beaches.
  

Preserving the marine environment

We can imagine the many benefits that the seas offer us, so we have to learn how to preserve them. But what is happening nowadays is evidence of disregard for this divine gift, from throwing waste, leaking oil, overfishing and many other means that destroy this great source. , So we will mention some of the means by which we provide a clean and healthy environment at sea:

• Raising awareness of the community; we start schools for children to universities and social events.

• Establish government institutions specialized in defending this source and have the capacity to stand up to all challenges.

• Supporting scientific research that helps to develop marine resources of all kinds.

• Replacing environmentally polluting sources of energy with clean sources such as wind, water, and solar energy.
