GEA [ENG/ITA]

Gea or Gaia, from ancient Greek, in the religion and in the Greek mitology, is the primordial goddes, therefore divine power, of the Earth.
Once florid, is gave its fruits and fed the entire population of the world.

Gea o Gaia, dal greco antico, nella religione e nella mitologia greca, è la dea primordiale, quindi la potenza divina, della Terra.
Un tempo florida, essa dava i suoi frutti e sfamava l’intera popolazione del mondo.

Today the earth, for the pollution made of man it is no longer able to produce if it is no forced from nitrates, pesticides and chemical fertilizers, this is harmfull for man and kill many insects including bees, that they are pollinat animals fundamental for our life, and for food production and agricola.
This small three-dimensional work of cm 20x20x20, it want represent the land. A now burnt land, exploited, polluted, dry as we can see of its colors. As always it is a plot of recicled materials, there are wire of skin, wool, tulle, beads, cans.

Oggi a causa dell’inquinamento provocato dall’uomo non è più in grado di produrre se non viene forzata da nitrati, pesticidi e fertilizzanti chimici, che oltre ad essere nocivi per l’uomo uccidono molti insetti comprese le api, che sono animali impollinatori fondamentali per la nostra vita, per l’alimentazione e la produzione agricola.
Questo piccolo lavoro tridimensionale di cm 20x20x20, vuole rappresentare la Terra. Una terra ormai bruciata, sfruttata, inquinata, secca come possiamo notare dai suoi colori. Come sempre è un intreccio di materiali riciclati, ci sono fili di pelle, lana, tulle, perline, lattine.

It is wavy like a hilly territory where stands timid a small plant, unaware of fate that will touch them.

Essa è ondulata come un territorio collinare dove si erge timida una piantina, ignara della sorte che le toccherà.

It is a small plant of fruit, it has a thick crown of leaves with flowers, but it is not known if it will be able to complete the its production of fruits. It does not know if the temperatures will be favorable or if will has enough water or if it will be attacked by parasites.
Soil is a natural capital that we must guard, cure, with a lot attention and commitment if we don’t want it to become a desert.

E’ una pianta da frutto, ha una fitta chioma con fiori, ma non sa se potrà portare a termine la sua produzione di frutta. Non sa se le temperature saranno favorevoli o se avrà acqua a sufficienza o se sarà attaccata da parassiti.
Il suolo è un capitale naturale che dobbiamo custodire, curare, con molta attenzione e impegno se vogliamo che non diventi un deserto.
