Can I buy V-Bucks for Fortnite cheaper in other countries? An interesting study (and maybe a chance to save money)
I have earlier written articles about how you can save money using a VPN to buy cheaper stuff for Stumble Guys. I have also done some research on whether this can help you in Brawl Stars, but with a surprising result and not that much of success. But, what is the reality about Fortnite? Is it cheaper to buy V-Bucks in other countries? Can you get access to cheaper stuff if you use a VPN? This is what I have found out!
Before you continue, you need to know this!
First of all, your Epic Games account is connected to a country. In other words, if you use a VPN and connect to a server in Turkey, you will still see the prices of your local country as you get to the check out process which requires you to log in with your Epic Games account. As a result, the only way you can get access to and buy V-Bucks in other countries is by registering a brand new Epic Games account in that country and buying the V-Bucks with this given account.
You must also know that you cannot send V-Bucks from one account to another. The only possibility is to gift skins and other accessories you buy to other accounts, but sending V-Bucks in itself is impossible. As a result, you cannot buy V-Bucks in one country, then send the V-Bucks to another account, and then use those V-Bucks to buy a Fortnite Crew pass or something like that.
Are there price differences between Fortnite in different countries if you want to buy V-Bucks?
I haven't tested this in all countries, but I did a quick test in approximately 15 countries. What did I find out? First of all, many countries use only the Dollar prices for V-Bucks; in such cases, these are the general prices.
1000 V-Bucks = 8 Euro / 8 Dollar
Those are the basic prices. Then I tested and used a VPN to get an IP address in countries such as Venezuela, Argentina, Turkey, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Uruguay, and several others.
Uruguay: 313 UYU (8.3 USD)
Hungary: 2392 HUF (6.85 USD)
India: 666 Ruppee (8.1 USD)
Brazil: 25 BRL (5.3 USD)
These are some examples of the price differences. As you can see, there aren't big differences, but Brazil stands out as the cheapest of all countries. There is quite a lot of money to save if you use this option, as you pay less than in other countries.
Let me also do a quick comparison of the price for 5000 V-Bucks between the standard USD and Euro prices compared to the prices in BRL and HUF.
5000 V-Bucks = 32 USD / 32 EURO
Hungary: 9592 HUF (27 USD)
Brazil: 98 BRL (20,7 USD)
What is the conclusion?
There is money to save, especially on the larger packages of V-Bucks if you buy them in Brazil. But, as I mentioned earlier, you need to create a new Epic Games account that is located in Brazil, and you can only use it later to transfer skins and not actual V-Bucks to your already existing Epic Games account registered in a different country.
You can, of course, consider creating a new account that is connected to Brazil and always use this in the future, as that might be an easier option.
Which VPN should you use for this purpose? If you want to use a VPN ideal for gaming, bypassing geo-blocks, and buying cheaper tokens for Stumble Guys, cheaper V-Bucks, and other stuff, I recommend using Surfshark. This is a cheap VPN, but at the same time one of the best. They have servers in more than 100 countries, making it ideal as you look for cheaper solutions in other countries.
