MEMENTO MORI - the short version
This drawing has not yet been posted on my website. I cannot say "you see it here first" because I did post it without much fanfare on DEVIANT ART and earlier today I blogged it in a long and detailed blog.

It was a long process to complete - I probably spent more time thinking about 'what's next' than the actual drawing in the studio.

Looks like a lot going on in that piece, how do you not smudge the graphite O_O
to not smudge -once I got what I want in a detail and no corrections are necessary anymore, I use fixative. While I am working, I either cover the area with a paper towel or I use a bridge.
