Escape from the Bottomless Hole… I mean, the Feedback Loop
A few months ago I wanted to write a little comedy post about the Kennedy assassination. Heavy subject I know, but there are so many bizzare things surrounding the topic that it makes it very interesting to say the least.
Add to that the enormous amount of things that do not make any sense and you got yourself a solid recipe for an absurdly peculiar story. A story that if it weren’t so tragic, it would’ve been absolutely comical.
Sure, it is still a controversial subject but then again, half a century has passed already and you can’t really argue against Robin Williams’s infamous The world is open for play.
After all, we should be able to laugh about everything, right?
“The best kind of comedy to me is when you make people laugh at things they've never laughed at, and also take a light into the darkened corners of people's minds, exposing them to the light. ― ”Bill Hicks
So I started digging.
And by digging I mean merely searching in Google, as opposed to interviewing the lost progeny of key witnesses that died under suspicious circumstances.
You know how it goes: One video here, one article there, and before I knew it, I was knee-deep in rabbit holes each one pulling my attention to a completely opposite direction.
Then out of nowhere, the strangest thing happens.
I suddenly realized that while I was busy navigating the rabbit hole, there were some other people setting a trap for me, trying to cage me inside a completely different tunnel.
The trap was something like an echo-chamber. A place where you’re locked up, unable to escape and forced to hear the exact same thing over and over again.
No matter how much time passes, it’s always the same discourse that is being played non-stop in a never ending loop.
Granted, it’s said by different people, with different faces and different names… But it was all just variations of the very same thing.
Other points of view were nowhere to be found.
In your browser, you get plenty of suggestions alright. But it’s absolutely insane how the entire suggestions column was packed with eerily similar content.
Needless to say, it was only a matter of time until there was nothing new left to be learned.
It seems like the algorithm was set on cornering me in a box where all I could find was other types content that reinforced those ideas they thought I was susceptible to.
Stuck in the echo-chamber and isolated from everything, all you have is that one single discourse, distorted and repeated to oblivion like a broken record player that’s missing all its buttons.
All but one, the Loop button.
You get bored of it, and yet you’re stuck and can’t seem to escape. It feels like purgatory as you finally discover the meaning of the song Hotel California.
“You can check-out, but you can never leave”.
I guess that’s why Hell is referred to as the bottomless hole. Because maybe it’s like a tube.
A tube that bends around itself and connects both ends so that you’re stuck in a never-ending circle.
And that’s the subject of our next story.
The Feedback Loop from hell, brought to you by the Orwellian trinity: Google, YouTube and Facebook.
Or as I like to call them, the children of Thanos.

"The Three Children of Thanos"
Adil, sounds like you've got a book title there brother! 👏
Haha! Hey Craig! It's been a while my friend, how are you doing?

Wow, it's so beautiful! You have a lot of creative and good perspective. I really liked it, you have a new follower
Thank you very much! :)
You are welcome
I have sensed it too, whenever I read/ watch any content through the children of Thanos, the whole suggestion box is filled with similar content, trying to reinforce the things that I already read.
We all are stuck in this endless loophole.
Yeah they want to box us it seems. :P I wish there was an option for a mixed suggestions box, so some of us can opt out. :)
You are so right. It seems that there are so many rabbit holes and how can one know what to believe? Will be waiting for the next post and maybe new facts.
Haha spoiler alert the next post will be how Youtube and Facebook echochambers (they even ran tests before implementing them) I'll add some fun to the facts so it's not boring :P I hope. :)

Hotel California by the Eagles is a rabbit hole in and of itself.
What you find is that there is a group of people with unlimited money who will stop at nothing to keep the people in their trap, controlled.
They own all the radio stations, all of the record labels, all of the tell-a-vision stations, all the newspapers and magazines. Further, they own all the major advertisers.
And advertisement isn't about selling you more things, its about putting you in a certain frame of mind so that you can be controlled more easily.
So, MLK was silenced because he was going against the narrative and had to be stopped.
I heard a lot of rumors about The Eagles (not first hand of course) but I can't form an opinion because I never researched it. But you're right, there is shortage of rabbit holes out there. In all sorts of fields,
Akıcı buldum. Thanks
Thanks! Is that Turkish?
