WHITE CAT - Good Witch
When they finally made it to the last lane in their village, they froze up. Quick glances were exchanged simultaneously. It was as though they telepathically remembered the stories associated with this path. They stood at the junction where the main murram road and the 'witch's' lane met.
'You have to walk from here alone' said the older woman facing south. 'I heard she doesn't take two guests at the same time. The younger woman nodded like zombie and headed south without another word. Her mind replaying her pre hallucinated nightmare of the worst that could happen if things went south.
She was trembling when she tapped on the witch's door. The door took a minute to be answered. Time enough for her to notice a beautiful garden. In it were rare traditional herbs and gorgeous flowers. She felt ridiculous because she expected nothing that beautiful to grace such a feared compound. The door opened and a white cat stood before her.
'Hallo. I have been told to guide you to the kitchen' then it wagged its tail heading back in. 'On a second thought, this is a bad idea' She managed weakly due to the shock. 'No, its not, said a warm voice from the house. 'You need help and I can offer it to you. Don't be afraid of the talking white cat, he's one of my many helpers and also a good friend. He can't harm you'.
She stepped in the lavender smelling house and quietly followed the cat. What smelt like her favorite ginger tea sat with a kettle on the table. 'I have been expecting you. When you are ready we shall begin but first, calm your nerves' said the smiling beautiful old woman leaning on a cabinet.
