Happy Bride #Freewrite

in #freewrite8 years ago

She stood in front of a mirror and half- raised her hands to admire her beautifully painted fingernails. Her hands seemed more soft and elegant than usual with only the left ring finger adorned with her engagement ring. She took a deep breath.

Her big day was here and the reflection in her mirror stared right back in disbelief. She feasted her eyes on a beautiful frail inhabited by her soul dressed in a creamish wedding gown. Tears stung and threatened to ruin the most prettiest version of her face as she saw it.

Another deep breath while suffocating on indescribable emotions. She dropped and propped her knees with her hands in a slight bend.

I am getting married... Today... Right now... How did I get here I wonder?... Been always fearful of committing and trusting 'men' now here I am... Will he ever get bored or worse, will I?

She stood upright again and faced her now terrified self. Her eyes welled as her mind flew back in time. It took her back through the experiences that earned her, her womanhood in a matter of minutes. The smile she had on at the end cleared any whispers of doubts within her.

Her soul felt like it was floating through time when she walked down the aisle then made her promises to a man who had changed her perceptions on everything she no longer believed in.

They exchanged rings and the weight of her commitments was represented by two her now rings and a new last name. She kissed them on a clenched fist and vowed to fight for her marriage one day at a time and smiled.

An awesome and spiritual freewrite! I think that this is the first of your stories that I have read and I'm very impressed, you do have good writing skills but that was not what impressed me the most. What I really enjoyed was the heartfelt feelings that flowed within the writing, whether real or conjured in your mind I was able to feel what you were trying to convey with words, which is what I look for in a story or book. 👍 😎

I am smiling... First because we all doubt our art but also because those are very kind words. Thank you so very much :)

Such an emotional story!
