The Angel Falls (Venezuela)
It is the highest waterfall in the world, with a height of 979 m (807 m of uninterrupted fall), It is located in the Canaima National Park, in the state of Bolivar, Venezuela.
Unesco World Heritage Site in 1994, it extends over an area of more than 30,000 km²
The Salto Angel has that name, in honor of the man who discovered it in 1937, the American adventurer and aviator Jimmy Angel. However, the indigenous people of the area, the Pemones, had already known it before and had baptized it as Churún Merú.
There are only two ways to see Angel Falls. One is from the air, by plane and the other is on an excursion that departs from the Ucaima port in Canaima, and lasts more than 3 hours navigating the Carrao river and then the Churún. From the Churún River, to the Angel Falls viewpoint, you should walk approximately one hour through the jungle.
