Always connected on the street

One thing I am not comfortable with about street photography is taking photos of people on the street, but I decided to force myself to try and get a few shots the other day, and this post will feature a few shots I got

Some shots like the first one I was a bit nervous so used a longer lens so I was getting the shots from the distance.

For this one I actually was a bit braver and got in closer with a shorter lens, but it wasn't really to hard for me and she was so busy on her mobile device she never noticed

Notice a pattern in these shots, I did as I was trying to get photos of people, SO many of them were so focused on their mobile devices.

In a way it made it easier for me to get some shots of people as their eyes were so glued to their mobile phones they didnt notice I was even taking a photo of them.

I did actually get some photos of people not on their phones, but for this post I have decided to just share these shots of people walking around the city and probably seeing nothing but what's on the screen of their device.

Now I am as connected as everyone these days and regularly do check on my device, but I seldom do that while out walking the streets, I like to be aware of my surroundings and see what is about me.

Some are so fixated on their device you have to watch out and step out of their way otherwise they will walk right into you.

How about you when out walking do you regularly check your phone, or do you wait till your stopped somewhere?

PS I am busy with family Iwill be voting on peoples posts when I can but wont have much time for commenting for a few days

Great shots!
It is amazing how many people are constantly glued to their phones. I admit, I spend a fair amount of time on my phone, but not while I am out walking around. I feel it is important to be aware of your surroundings. Also, I have kids whom I rarely leave home without and it is difficult to shepherd 3 kids around while glued to a phone, haha.
Great photos though, and looking forward to the non-phone shots you got whenever you post those!

Thanks, yes I am the same I am on my phone a lot but not when out walking

Have a great weekend

You too sir! :)

lol everyone buzy no one saw you lol :P

INdeed not one of these people noticed me LOL

They are so busy looking at their smartphones they don't care. In high school I was real big on photography. I didn't know if I should ask people first before taking a picture... but after asking it ruined the mood of the picture. Candid shots are great but I feel like I am violating their privacy. I still don't now how to resolve the issue.

I can relate to that and thats why I hardly do street photography ofpeople as I also feel I am invading their privacy

I love street photography! Great photos!

Thanks its an area I am not comfortable with but trying to work on it

Same here, best of luck and steem ☺️

This cell phone fixation is an epidemic.

I totally agree

Some awesome street shots there. My favorite is the last one. The composition is superb.

I don’t check messages as I am walking, but I am often using my phone as a camera.

Thanks :) I should probably take more photos with my phone but I generally always have my camera with me LOL

I upvoted your post to 420 :p
I like the 2cd & 4th pic best =)

Cool and thanks I think the 4th is my favorite

I can't walk and play on my phone. I'm not coordinated. It is interesting to see others on the street using their phones with ease as they multitask. I am a bit shy so I tend to wait until I'm sitting still and in private to check my phone.

I am a bit the same LOL I generally stop somewhere when I need to check my accounts
