Is kindness a virtue or a responsibility ??
My #life is becoming faster and faster everyday with no time to breathe. Ambitions, competitions and desires becoming larger than life and as it grows it sucks the happiness and peace out of the mind which goes unnoticed since
I am practically absent from the present, absorbed in the extravaganza of a secured future which is nothing more than a mirage.
Every step that takes me ahead in this rat race equally separates me from the now and the fact that life only exists in the present, I am never reminded of since I was taught to do the same after birth. As I keep moving ahead in the journey called life I see a lot of ups and downs.
When I fall I so feel the need of a helping hand and when I see a co-passengers fall in this journey I am in a dilemma, that if I stop it might slow me down in this race.
As this race continues, the more I move ahead, the farther I feel I am from the goal that I set years ago never realizing its growing bigger n bigger like a child.
Suddenly i look back to realize so many decades went by but i was in a trance.
And now tired and worn out i broke down in a lonely corner of my quarter pondering upon the only question which is going to haunt me till the rest of my life .
Is Kindness a virtue or a responsibility??. I kept on looking for the answer.
Finally lying on my death bed as I recalled some of the past events and analyzed, I realized it does not take more than basic logic to balance our lives to live in the present. Thus a pause wouldn't have slowed me down, It could have offered some fresh air to breathe which supports life.
The most convincing logic finally pops out of thin air " What you give comes back" its like an Eureka Moment. From the core of my #heart a voice speaks aloud "If you show kindness to others it comes back to you when you need it the most, So its not a virtue its a responsibility not towards others but towards yourself".

I often find myself wondering similar questions. Is it a virtue be your best or is it your responsibility to make the best of yourself...?
Indeed valid questions my friend.
