My favorite books #6 - Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki

Fellow Steemians, here another book in my series “My favorite books” which I think everyone in our day and age should have read at least once. Especially in our Crypto world you have to understand some of the principles. For me it is a great gateway to show you a way into the financial world and gain intelligence in that area.

The book basically tells the story of the author, Robert Kiyosaki who had two fathers when he grew up. One father, which is his real biological dad (THE POOR) and the other one is the father of his best friend, Mike. He calls his dad the Poor dad, because he is the school system educated one, but lacks street smart. Good grades and always doing everything by the rules.

Then on the other hand the Rich dad is the one with very little education but he has an MBA in street smartness if you will. Never went to an ivy league university etc. He learnt how to make money rather to work for money.

Thoughtout the book you will read about various lessons Robert and Mike are tought by the Rich Dad and they learn to think like a business man and more importantly that most of the american dream is a never ending rat race. As you already know I am a book worm and I will start writing more about books I recommend as well as what is important to know in the financial space.

As you read through the book you will learn about the 6 major key take aways:

  • Rich people don’t work for money
  • Rich people understand finances
  • Rich people mind their own business
  • Rich people understand the tax law and corporations
  • Rich people invent money
  • Rich people work to learn not to make money

Here are the 10 chapters of the book:

Chapter 1: Rich Dad, poor Dad!
Chapter 2: The Rich do not work for money
Chapter 3: Why Teach Financial Literacy
Chapter 4: Mind Your Own Business
Chapter 5: The History of Taxes and the Power of Corporations
Chapter 6: The Rich Invent Money
Chapter 7: Work to Learn, Don’t Work for Money
Chapter 8: Overcoming Obstacles
Chapter 9: Getting Started
Chapter 10: Still Want More? Here are Some To Do’s

Make sure you understand the difference between an asset and a liability and control the assets.

I hope this gave you a better understanding of what this book is about and why I recommend you to read it.

What is your all time favorite book? Or what are your top5 books you every read?
