Does anyone else NOT care about the college admissions scandal?
Really?
College is pretty much a waste of time these days from an educational perspective.
The faculty is polluted with leftists; students are taught to run crying and whining to "safe spaces" when any counter to leftist dogma is encountered.
Admissions to the "quality" schools are based more on extra curricular activities than any actual ability to learn...unless one is of the proper skin color, and standards are lowered for admission.
And what do you get from these supposedly "better" schools? Guest appearances from jihadists and cop-killers.

What is the PURPOSE of education?
Mountain Guerilla points out what we EXPECT from our educational system, and from my own POV, I would say that number 4 is the MOST important as far as what we expect from higher education. We aren't getting that for our tax dollars.
Education has a couple of very basic, generally agreed upon dictionary definitions:
1 The process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university.
2 An enlightening experience.
3 The knowledge and development resulting from the process of being educated.
4 The process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits.
Are there more important things we should be looking at today?
