Marketing Campaign Completed - Big Success - Tips For Drawing In A Crowd On The Cheap And Some Overall Statistics

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

CoinMarketCap and DashPayMagazine marketing campaigns have completed and i am really happy with the results

For the last 30 days i have had a marketing campaign running on DashPayMagazine and for 14 days of that time i have also had a campaign active on CoinMarketCap.

From this experience i have found that some people actually click adverts! What.. yeah it's true :) from the 30 day campaign i had a whopping 1389 click through on banner based advertising. i couldn't believe the success!

Majority of the clicks originated from CoinMarketCap and rightly so this advertising space was a lot more expensive.
DashPayMagazine contributed ~8% of the clicks for 4% of the price! - This is to say that it was much better value in terms of clicks per dollar but the massive traffic hitting CoinMarketCap left if with low numbers comparatively.

It is my pleasure to share with you a few stats with a few interesting details

Below is some statistic from my link tracking portal with Bitly.

Referral Stats the most important gauge of success

Between the 1389 eyeballs that the campaign attracted to Steemit - 99 visitors signed up for an account! This give a click to user rate of 7.1% with a cost of $10.90 USD per new users on this campaign. I will admit i didn't really know what to expect when i got into this but when i found out i was 1 user away from 100 i was kind of upset; not actually upset, just like Damn! so close :) but i am really impressed with the outcome and being the 4th most successful recruiter in regards to the referral stats.

Please see the current leader board in relation to Referrals as of 9th of August 2016 below - Thanks to Ash for the chart the original post can be found HERE

Big thanks to @cass our resident graphics design wizard, for some fantastic artwork!!

You can see some of his work below and be sure to check out @cass for some truly impressive Steemit related wallpapers, advertising contents, buttons and more

Conclusion

I am happy with the campaign and how it turned out and i have learnt that there is good value for money in smaller players such as DashPayMagazine and other similar sites; i think 1 month campaign was a good period of time and that if we spread the advertising around to the smaller player we will be able to have advertising running for longer at a large range of websites, driving a low price per click in comparison to the larger players.

If you are interested in doing you own referrals you can do so by directing traffic to https://steemit.com/?r=YOURUSERNAMEHERE and if you would like to track your click rates i suggest Bitly.com.
I have made a post about Bitly and its features which can be found HERE

My campaign on coinmarketcap is still running, I hope it will have similar results.

Wish you the best of Luck Bergy! how many impressions did you go for?

50.000 in 14 days, But on I noticed I have only gotten 1 referral yet. Which kind of worries me.

Just to give you an idea; the first round (first bump in the chart above) was based off 5,000 impressions per day for 7 days and the next time was 25,000 per day for 7 days. it was also good time to because Steem just hit the 3rd position on CMC so people where still trying to work out what it was; hope it picks up for you soon

Thanks for giving me something to compare to, I think i'll wait for the next upward surge in steem price with launching new campaigns.

Thanks @steempower for taking the time to put together this report on your results so far! And @cass for making the graphics for you :)

@cass made the graphics for us, steemit, he has opened them all up for anyone to use :)

The more users the better

Great work. Let's see how this campaign works - Win 12.5 BTC by tweeting about Steem, if possible track the return.

If you are interested in doing you own referrals you can do so by directing traffic to https://steemit.com/?r=YOURUSERNAMEHERE and if you would like to track your click rates i suggest Bitly.com.

I wish I knew about it before...

I dont have enough friends and most of the people I know on Facebook are already here. Well done you 99 is alot

Hi @steempower! My steem-marketing effort this last Sunday was what I think the first Steemit promotion in Argentina. I did a City Tour in Buenos Aires, hope you like it!

I hope there would be more of such good works for steemit - thumbs up!

Great info. I may consider using coinmarketcap for a banner ad. And @cass does have some clean design :)

I always found Eat24's experiment with ads on porn sites to be fascinating: https://blog.eat24.com/how-to-advertise-on-a-porn-website/

I don't personally think it's necessary to incorporate the subject in the ad itself, but the reach and cost per click is intriguing.
