Thrifting Snipe Challenge - Would You Know What This Profitable Item Was If You Saw It In A Thrift Store?
Background:
I walked into a thrift store yesterday and this was the first thing I saw. It screamed value, so I grabbed it and checked out the rest of the store to not lose momentum. After quick research and testing, this is me buying it for $19.99, plus tax. It'll be a very quick flip.
Thrifting Tip:
You need to be able to quickly identify profitable items before your competitors that are hunting in the store with you do. It's war. The flip side is to find the hidden value in what inexperienced people have overlooked. In this example, this was inexplicably sitting by itself on a shelf for 1.5 days!
For another example, I once found a $400 sale for $2 in a thrift store window display where people waited in line for hours before the sun came up to have access to these premium curated items. I strolled up at 4 PM, saw it sticking out from behind a shelf, and claimed it in a heartbeat. Suckers!
Your Test:
- What is the item pictured above, and what would it be worth in used condition in USD if you resold it?
- It cleans up like new with a little rubbing alcohol.
- IF you need a hint, I'll leave one as a comment below.
- If you guess the item, your answer will get a 100% upvote.
- Whoever is closest to the price I've realistically valued it at will also get a 100% upvote.
Good luck!

Cervical traction device.
Possibly Saunders brand.
≈$280s new
≈$150s used (tho depends on buyer, I suppose.)
Cheers and be well.
Smart cookie. Two people snagged the answer, but you nailed the brand name. Are you familiar with the product or did some nice sleuthing for that info? Price is tied with another guess, but it's still in play.
I have one similar, or technically I am borrowing it. Used it last month. Neck pain is so dumb! :-) A lil sleuthing helps always too though.
I didn't realize these were that popular. Two other people jumped right on the answer with previous career experience or product knowledge.
If you're quick at sleuthing , and ever had the interest, thrifting for some profit could be fun for you. A decent part of the exercise is rapid fire item research on the fly to make sure you're making good decisions, but also not slowing yourself down as the other wolves are hunting around.
Just looping back that it sold for $175.
I think it’s one of those cervical distraction head straps therapist use. I used to set people up on traction machines, that looks like one of this parts.
It will probably sell for $50 maybe?

You are so
WRONG!!Right! If you've worked with them before, there's no fooling you. You were the first person to respond correctly by 1 minute so you get a full upvote once my SP recharges a little bit.As for the price, not even close. Thank for contributing.
That’s crazy! Won by the hairs of my chin. Thanks

I have decided that this is some sort of traction device for the neck. I figure the head goes on the cupped side and the back on the flat with the neck in the middle and with magic it stretches the neck. Probably make $100 to 150 online.
Bingo. Someone who used to work with these at their job answered this one minute before you, but I'll still honor a full upvote once my SP recharges a little bit. Have you had experience with one before or just used your head to figure it out by the design?
Price answer pending.
Please feel free to comment a little more so I can upvote your efforts to resteem my stuff.

I want to say that it is some sort of drum pedal. Maybe $200?

Thanks for playing. It is not any sort of drum pedal. Nice imagination though. I'll circle back on the $.
Thrifting is so much fun. I thought that looked like it would fit someone's head, especially with that strap, but didn't think much of it.
I already know what it is so won't guess, but I was very happy to see you find one. I got one in the fall at a Church Sale for $5. :-)
Hint: Don't assume that electricity is required. It may or may not be necessary.
