Post HF21 Steem Curation Rewards Inquiry - How Much Are Larger SP Holders Now Earning Daily From Manual Voting?

in #curation5 years ago (edited)

Asking for a friend, I was curious how daily curation payout rewards are shaping up for larger stakeholders who are actively upvoting after the latest fork.

...General estimates may help new investors understand what they're getting into when deciding on what level of stake they'd like to start with.

Is it too soon to know?

For example, @trafalgar at 902K SP pulled in 292 SP of curation yesterday, and we can rest assured that his activity has been fine tuned... in a good way. Is that roughly the best case scenario we can expect if that breaks down to 32.4 daily Steem from curation per 100K SP?

Obviously, monitoring for a few days or weeks would give better data, but maybe people have a gut feel of the rates so far...

Perhaps 100K SP could be a baseline to multiply by 2x, 3x, etc., but I was hoping larger stakeholders could chime in with their recent experience. My friend is really curious.

  • Is an average forming where X SP voted wisely throughout a day rakes in X Steem/Day? Is this a dumb question?

  • Is there a curve forming if the more SP you have accelerates this return, or is this curation reward potential essentially linear? There you go, I just showed my lack of knowledge on the n^x math stuff everyone was always talking about.

  • This assumes general voting activity, without circles or outlier posts that get larger rewards allocated to them via a curation group, bots, or a trip to trending. I'm talking about on average... OH, and no self-voting!!

I'm encouraged by new activity on the voting front after years of having hope hammered down to a pulp. Whether it's organic or simply the most profitable way to act at this time, it's going to distribute the rewards pool a lot more, and this is awesome.

I also like how people are in combat mode to break up voting circles. I may have only flagged 2-3 times over two years, and tend to think my small downvote value now has little upside, versus starting drama and burning virtual bridges. I'm glad that justice seems to be being served and hope it's sustained. It is entertaining to see members of circles start lashing out from the rocks they've been hiding under over the years. Thank God for New Steem!!

While this blockchain still has miles to go to succeed on a global scale, the concept of more equitable earning potential to both compound staked SP and help others in a mutually beneficial setup is becoming more appealing. I dislike the concept of giving myself a reward before someone else, so the fact that both parties may benefit more fairly when engaging on the blockchain feels promising.

Thanks in advance,
@steemmatt

It would be interesting to compile data on this, are you looking at his data tru steemworld?

Yep, SW or SteemNow do the trick. It's so hard to multiply out my stake, so maybe this can be assessed at the top level down to see the best case and average scenarios. Could be marketable info.

@abh12345 get over here and chime in!!!

Great question and I look forward to finding out. I'm sure a few of the Whales had already calculated their daily income, based on SP a long time ago, after the news of a 50/50 split was mentioned.

I haven't done research on this yet! But some really crazy curation rewards happen if someone accidentally upvotes 'right' - and I've seen some big hodlers post happy things about their curation rewards so far :-)

Interesting!

It's nice to see that people who have invested big are being better rewarded.

I also think I've been getting quite a few more organic votes on my posts. I'm not sure if that's just due to new people noticing my work from the different tribes or the extra incentive to currate again vs. maybe just delegate to bots, but as a creator I'm also enjoying the changes as well.
