A Realization About Steemit - The Friends Are My Rewards

I just read a post by @tarazkp that sparked an idea.

This comment particularly stood out to me: "They are still here, they see the platform in Steem, not dollars."

I completely agree, but also have another spin after almost daily grinding since August 2017, plus an eye-opening/catalyzing trip to Kraków...

If Steem disappears tomorrow, or our tokens are worth absolutely nothing...

1. I'd be perfectly content because I've made plenty of really good friends that are far more valuable than any financial investment or fiscal incentive.

2. I can now call my experience a complete success, regardless of what happens to Steemit or crypto.

Steemit gives people with like minds a warm way to meet each other. We all start with something very important in common.

Living in a big city where most people are callous, superficial, impatient, judgmental, cold, and lost in their phones, being able to freely have real conversations means a lot to me. There's no uphill social battle on Steemit when it comes to communication and respect. Steem Power is merely a metric of influence, not personal potential, and I feel that most people get that.

That's pretty powerful stuff.

Think about that and if you'd feel the same.

If not, start getting to know the people you interact with better, and remember that we're all real people after all.

I think this picture offers some good perspective. Hopefully this helps people realize the valuable opportunities in front of them here to enjoy their time more while markets are slow.
