Antipolo Steemit Meet Up Plan
We will be in Cavite for the second stop of the SteemPH Meet Up Caravan in five days. While finalizing the plans for the Cavite Meet Up, we saw the announcement for @SteemitAntipolo which was later on re-branded to @SteemPH.Antipolo to follow sub-communities' naming convention under the @SteemPH community.
Antipolo has been finalized as the third stop of the Caravan scheduled to be on the 26th of March.
From when the plan to put up a sub-community in Antipolo came up, we were already thinking about supporting them to launch via the SteemPH Meet Up Caravan. In their Self-Introduction post, @SteemPH.Antipolo told us about their journey as individual Steemians and the reasons why they decided to come together and form a sub-community in their locality.
Early into their journey the group the formed @SteemPH.Antipolo have already done an Outreach Event where they distributed school supplies to grade school student in a public school in their city. The event was fully funded by the members' rewards from their Steemit activities, keeping aligned with the @SteemPH's vision of Building Communities and Enriching Lives.
SteemPH Antipolo Fest
The communal account @SteemPH.Antipolo announced the SteemPH Antipolo Fest a couple of days ago. The event is a month in the making prior to the announcement. As early as the initial planning we were already in discussion with the group's lead about clubbing the event with the SteemPH Meet Up Caravan.
The group is expecting some 50 attendees who will be engaged in an entire day of fun and games, surprises, and learning. The funds that we typically spend on meet ups will be given to the group for them to manage. We are thankful that just like in the Cavite event, this is driven by existing members from the local community that saved us a lot of the ground work a meet up typically entails.
Because Antipolo is an existing community, the Caravan will be formatted a bit differently from Bulacan and Cavite meet ups. It will still include a presentation to help new Steemians through their learning curve, but since reputable Steemians will be in attendance, we will ask them to speak about their know expertise.
SteemPH Meet Up Caravan
The lead of @SteemPH.Antipolo is a known supervisor/moderator of Utopian.io, there's also a couple of other moderators from the core group, and a lot of the members are regular contributors. We are likely to just breeze through this topic and have Steemians from the Antipolo community speak about it. I can still cover the analysis bit, and give a basic introduction about the use of @arcange's SteemSQL, Excel, and Power BI in making analysis contribution.
We will still be talking about @Sndbox, the updated schedules of cohorts, the benefits of being a @Sndbox cohort, the responsibilities involved in being a cohort, and introduce the curation effort from @Sndbox-Alpha.
We will tell the group the story about how I got into @Sndbox in hope that we encourage everyone to engage with seasoned Steemians.
The SteemPH Meet Up Caravan was first thought of as a follow-through to @SteemNest. We see opportunities to further improve the quality of contents being produced in the Philippines which can bring more positive attention to Filipino Steemians' from the global community.
Because of the time limitation we will point the participants to @SteemNest for details. We will however show comparisons that will show quality of contents from Bulacan Meet Up participants from before they joined the Meet Up, and after. We will highlight the improvements from three perspective; formatting, level of details, and thought organisation.
The top challenge in putting up and maintaining a sub-community is having enough Steem Power to support each other. This is a realization we only got later into our journey with @SteemPH.Manila, and @SteemPH.Davao. Like what we have done in Bulacan, and plan to do in Cavite, we will have a short talk about the importance of powering up, and close the presentation with a Power Up Challenge.
We are excited about this meet up since it is formatted quite differently. We will have the opportunity to bond with a huge group of Steemians for almost an entire day, get to finally meet some of the long-term members of @SteemPH who are now part of the core group of @SteemPH.Antipolo, spend time with family in a lovely resort, and we may even get a chance to enjoy the pool.
