What a start for this project.

It litterally took up speed like a Porsche 911

I took this screenshot at 911 upvotes

I am (we are) speechless and overwhelmed by the community reactions to our project, still I'll try to find some words about it.
While I am writing this, steembay has gained almost 350 followers, there are already about 50 auctions running (some of them are quite successful), we recieved more than 1300 upvotes, hundreds of comments and we had more than 4000 views.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

A special thanks goes out to some who helped a great deal in the meantime:

@arcange who provided a translation of the main article into French and into Chinese
@anomadsoul who provided a translation into Spanish
@theaustrianguy who provided a translation into German
@modemser who translated into Romanian
@abuzenk who translated just recently into Indonesian language

some of the bigger investors on steemit made it possible to get such a visibility with our first post! THX to you as well!

We got so much appreciation and recieved so many good ideas and suggestions how to make this project even work better, that it would take several posts to thank everyone and this THANK YOU goes out to you, I hope you feel adressed by that.

Another special THX goes to a donor who wants to stay anonymous and helped us going on with a generous BTC donation of about 210$ (WOW THANK YOU)

Of course we did some work in the meantime... it is putting some pressure on us being noticed this much!

At first I tried to answer all the comments, but everytime I finished an answer, I had to answer 2 more comments. At a certain point I gave up on trying, but be assured, I read EVERY comment. Your ideas and support are essential and they are much appreciated...

Fixed a bug: (Test)Bot started while users were NOT using steembay as first tag (which is now obligatory)
Fixed a bug: In certain circumstances it was possible to end / cancel an auction when you were not the auction starter
Fixed appearence: it looks a bit prettier now.

THX to those who found and reported these bugs.

Roadmap (for the next month... )

  1. Multilingual bot
(auctions and instructions will then be available in spanish, french, chinese and any other language of which we'll get good translations.) This is almost done and could be ready at the end of the weekend if everything works as expected.
  2. An automated daily report about the auctions ending in the next 24 hours to give them some more visibility.
This could be ready during the next week
  3. Possibility to bid anonymous (until the end of auction) with an encrypted memo.
This could take some time, but this has to be working before we go on to continue on the App.
  4. Make it more pretty and understandable...
As this is an ongoing process, there is no timeframe to that
  5. A short HowTo for an easy overview how to handle everything
    Probably finished today
  6. A Q&A for repeatedly asked questions and suggestions
This also should be finished during next week
  7. A possibility to "Buy it now" at a fixed price (let's see if we have time for that)
  8. An overview in the first comment with the actual highbidder and the actual highest price
This will hopefully be finished in the next 2-3 weeks
  9. A contest to create a nice logo for steembay. This should be a community project.
    This will start VERY soon.

TL&DR

THX, we are Working to make it better, and WOW!

thx for the suggestion!

is it going to be like upload the photos of the thing that we wanted to sell? and exactly like ebay ...?

You only have to use this platform
Post your description / pics / shipping information as an article on steemit and use steembay as the first tag then follow the instructions ;-)

@steembay thank you for your awesome idea! I am now following u in order to stay tuned!

Nice project! Would certainly meet the needs of Steemit users. Thank you @steembay

Congratulations for all that you are doing....you deserve the success that you are enjoying. I am doing my best to spread the word in each of my posts about steem.

What excites me is your are seeing real live auctions taking place. This means we are seeing commerce on the steem blockchain. This is the next evolutionary phase for steem to experience.

Ebay has a $37B market cap. I really hope that you can take a portion of that business and pull it onto steem....it appears, with 50 auctions already going, you are starting to do that.

I just looked up Ebay's pricing and it seems they take anywhere from 1% to an upwards limit of 25% to list. Wow....that is something you can blow through since you charge zero.

Let me know what I can do to help.

The last time, my wife used ebay, it was an item sold at 45$ with all the charges and the paypal fee she endet up with mere 30$
Sounded like a bad deal for me... this was the initial moment for this project ;-)

Just added a post that talked about this...it is a great development for this blockchain.

Zero cost transactions...no auction fees and no cost to move the money.

How can it not be a winner?

Excellent Post!
