Artificial Food Created Using Electricity
Could this be the answer to world hunger?
Finnish scientists succesfully created an artificial food using electricity, water, carbon dioxide, and microbes.

Using a bioreactor, the researchers exposed the raw materials to electrolysis. The product is powdered single-cell protein composed of 50% protein and 20% carbohydrates.
While the technology needs further development and might need a decade to be commercially available, it has a very huge potential in fighting world hunger and climate change.
It can be used to feed people in places where sustaining agricultural poduction is not possible.
And since the project runs on renewable energy, it can help in reducing carbon emissions by reducing demands in food livestock and crops required to feed them.
Kudos to those brilliant scientists from Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) and the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland for collaborating in Food From Electricity Project.
