Hello to everyone in this great community known as Steem4Nigeria I hope we all are doing just well. I welcome you all to a great week alongside a great contest that has been organized by the steemit engagement team. Today I will be dropping my entry regarding the contest topic so far which has been tagged ** Your dream about stem/steemit in your country**. I urge you all to stay put while I drop my entry.

HOW WELL IS STEEMIT KNOWN IN YOUR COUNTRY?

The steemit platform is quite not well known in my country that much and this is because many people here often are been duped in the name of making earnings through several platforms which we all know as the Ponzi scheme and as such people are now caution and care when it comes to online businesses and this is a strong reason why the steemit platform is not so popular.

Again, with our government not keying into cryptocurrency is also a great turn down for the steemit platform to be popular because most people think that when you are been caught making earnings like cryptocurrency one gets to face the wrath of the law. so this is also downtime for the steemit platform to be well known in my country.

In most cases, many Nigerians especially the youth are kind of lazy, they do not want to work. they feel writing is a way of slowing them down. they prefer to make money on a platform of god and are careless about writing. it only takes a few which is about twenty in a hundred youth to sign up on this platform. we tend to see a scenario whereby a user will come to the platform and thinks he/she can just come and start getting rewards without making effort for it, and when they realized that the platform needs people that are ready to work, they quickly opt-out and stop blogging because they want quick money.

No wonder they prefer to be scammed by Ponzi schemes rather than working for the money. and again, in my country, the majority of the older people do not want to indulge in cryptocurrency not talk about a platform that will stress them before getting a reward. so they feel it is not worth it. they prefer to see conventional currency rather than cryptocurrency which they are yet to believe that it is real.

The people who know about the steemit platform so well are mostly students and a few older people who are now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. so if I am to conclude this answer, I will say about 20% of 100% know about the steemit platform, so it is not well known in Nigeria yet.

WHAT ARE THE WAYS YOU THINK THE PROMOTION OF STEEMIT CAN BE MORE EFFECTIVE IN YOUR COUNTRY? THIS CAN INCLUDE SPECIAL PROJECTS YOU HAVE IN MIND.

Well, the number one aspect in which the steemit platform can gain popularity is highlighted as follows.

• MEDIA - When we talk about the media platform I mean by advertising it on the radio, television stations, and so on. this aspect will promote the steemit platform in Nigeria. there are public channels that Nigeria makes use of to advertise and broadcast news to all citizens, so in this same way, we can also make use of it to promote the steemit platform and as such it will be greatly known in all parts of the country.

• NEWSPAPER - We can also make use of the newspaper to promote the steemit platform, some individuals do not always sit and home to listen to the news and as such, they tend to get newspapers on their way to work or business places, so with the newspaper, we can as well advertise the steemit platform and promote it greatly. with this motion, it will certainly meet a huge number of Nigerians.

• SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM - The social media platform is also a way of making an effective promotion of the steemit platform. by blogging and posting about the steemit platform on our respective pages depending on the social media handle one is making use of. and also the platform is expected to have had a page on all social media handles, where various country representatives of each country have their different pages and then promote the platform in their respective countries. I believe that will also do to promote the steemit platform.

• PROMOTIONS IN SCHOOLS - We can also promote the steemit platform in our various schools. I get to notice that students do like to blog and write articles, now imagine bringing the steemit platform to their table, it will be wonderful thereby making steem flyers and banners in other to advertise the platform so well. so we should also promote the steemit platform in our respective schools. this will help promote and popularize this platform so greatly in our respective towns.

DO YOU THINK STEEMIT WOULD BE ADOPTED MORE IN YOUR COUNTRY IF THE POINTS YOU LISTED ABOVE ARE IMPLEMENTED?

All the points I just listed above are mediums of communication and showcasing things to the world. with the use of media, newspapers, radio, and the rest I have mentioned, sure we will see more users signing up on a regular into this great platform.

Yes, I believe so well that if these points of mine which I just mentioned are implemented in my country Nigeria, we will see a huge trend of users trooping into the platform. especially with the steemit platform's ability to reward users, which will certainly be a great aspect to convince them so well. now imagine a student on break not doing anything he/she would want to make the best out of that free period to create an article and probably get rewarded. so this is using your time so well as the saying goes, time is indeed money. so these points that I have mentioned will go a long way in which we are likely to see more users adopting and enrolling in the platform if they are implemented.

HOW HAVE YOU CONTRIBUTED YOUR QUOTA TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF STEEMIT IN YOUR COMMUNITY?

Truth be told, I am trying but have not done much though. I have spoken to many persons about this great platform and as such a few of them decided to be part of this great family. a few users which I brought to this platform are as follows @gidsbrown, @samuelebuka, @preshy414, @v-brainer, and @skilocy. these are the users I managed to talk to and they picked interest and decided to enroll too.

I have also been sending my link to certain articles which I have shared on this platform to my Twitter account and with that certain users get to see and will then follow the link from my Twitter page to my steemit blog page. that is another way of promoting the steemit platform to the world entirely and I have been doing that regularly especially when I make a post related to business and cryptocurrency. so with that, I get to create awareness in the mind of individuals regarding the steemit platform.

Currently, all federal universities are on strike, I have planned to make a promotion of this platform in my school, and with the influence, I have as a class representative, I am sure that many students will be convinced and also want to take part in the good tidings this wonderful platform is offering to it users.

CONCLUSION

The steemit platform is in no doubt a great platform and as such we as users have to promote it at all costs. with the promotion on various platforms, we will see a great turnout. when all those points of mine are implemented, we are sure of many people coming into the platform to also receive from that which we as users are benefiting from this great platform.

As I said, all countries should have a steemit social media handles which are expected to be created by all country representatives from each country and then invite users who are already on this platform and those users can equally share the pages or links to all their social media friends to join. with that, we are sure to see massive users coming to join this great platform.
