Unbelievable. How does a simple day of fishing turned into my family, @chris-the-batman, @DreemSteem, and @Enginewitty, close to being eaten alive by the largest, meanest, ugliest, fish known to man? Well, Let me tell you. It all started so innocently...

"Let's go fishing", @Enginewitty said.
"It will be relaxing", he said.
"You can sleep under the tree", he said.
"Hold this tac .45", he said.

"Wait! WHAT?", screeched out of me.

"Nothing to worry about", he said.
"No one has been able to catch this fish in a hundred years", he said.

"Hmmm...", I said while taking the .45 from him, making sure the safety was on and slipping it into my purse.

A day by a riverbank sounded just what I needed. I decided to forget that @Enginewitty's nickname is Lucky.

Waving my hand in front of Enginewitty, I said, "What are we waiting for? Daylights burning! You drive like an old man. Hand over those keys."

If I was going to have to save his life, I was going to be the one driving, was how I saw it. Enginewittys mouth opened and closed. Was that a sob I heard? His face contorted in an odd shape while placing the keys to his brand new 2019 Ram 1500 Limited in my hand.

He might have had one small tear welling up in the corner of his left eye too. Hard to say about that last bit, because I was running to the truck singing 'Who's got the Power', keys jingling in my hand.

I pulled up to the fishing hole. Enginewitty started doing the strangest thing. He didn't even wait until I came to a stop before jumping out of the truck and kissing the ground. He looked to be crying and laughing at the same time too. I didn't want to interrupt a secret fishing ritual so I made my way over to the large maple tree and settled in for a nice nap in the cool shade.

I was being lulled to sleep, with a smile on my face, to the grumblings of Enginewitty going on about crazy drivers and his new truck. I was soon fast asleep.

In my dream, I heard laughing off in the distance. The ground below me began to shake. I had a bit of a talk with The Sandman about trying to ruin my afternoon nap. Before Sandie could answer, reality hit in the form of water soaking me to the bone.

Making sure the .45 was safe and dry, I started to assess the situation I found myself in. Three family members were playing in bloody chummed filled water. Two horses were happily chomping grass 40 yards behind me. One stiff fishing pole was stuck in the ground between two oddly shaped mounds. Right...

I looked behind me to see if @JackMiller was going to show up for the fishing trip or if he had gotten sucked into a long game of Scrabble. It was looking like Scrabble had won the day. Hmmm...

I walked down to the river bank to explain to the kids how they might want to get out of the water, when off to my right a shimmer in the water caught my eye. I could see Enginewitty now waving his arms trying to get the two giggling nuts out of the water. Gauging the distance, I saw it was going to be too late.

I ran back to the maple tree. Resting my hands deep into the crevasses of the trunk I closed my eyes. Using all the energy I had, drawing on those around me, I called out a silent plea for help.

The maple tree responded in kind. The branches started shaking like the end of days. I pleaded stronger, pressing my hands as deep as they could go. I became one with the tree. The power of nature was in my hands. A power unlike any I had ever felt before. Taking a deep breath of the cleanest air imaginable I used the rest of my strength to open a portal.

In the last bit of awareness I had, I saw @JackMiller, phone in hand, trolling through the portal on a pontoon boat. He stopped in the middle of the swimmers. Taking the stiff fishing rod, I wrapped the .45 up with the fishing line. Screaming, I threw the rod over to the boat. Lucky for me a gust of wind from the branches of the maple tree helped it along.

I proceeded to say a prayer while crumbling to the ground.
