It’s been a while since I’ve had an unboxing post. So today you are in for a treat.
This unboxing is a pre sale order from Apmex.
This is the second coin in the Rwanda Nautical Ounce series. The initial release of the Santa Maria was in 2017. The Rwanda Nautical Ounce series continues with this 250th Anniversary of the HMS Endeavour. The coin is .999 fine silver, it is 40mm in diameter and comes sealed in a plastic pouch from the mint.
A little history of this coin....
The HMS Endeavour was the ship explorer James Cook commanded on his first voyage to Australia and New Zealand from 1769-1771. In April 1770 the HMS Endeavour became the first ship to reach the east coast of Australia. Continuing the voyage to New Zealand, where no European ship arrived since Abel Tasman's Heemskerck 127 years earlier, the Endeavour continued and rounded the Cape of Good Hope on 13 March 1771 to reach the English port of Dover on 12 July 1771.

Nice pick ups @silverd510, i like the coin but are you leaving them in the factory sealed packaging. I saw a few article about pvc in packaging. I don't know if they changed it.

It’s a great series. Last years is selling for a good profit already. Hope you are taking them out of the pouches though.
Yes I did. They are in capsules, but unfortunately it was too late. The damage is done 😢
Nope. Do a 10 second dip in acetone, to get the pvc residue off. Then wash the coin with a tiny drop of original blue Dawn dish soap and distilled water. Then rinse it really well with distilled water. Use a hair dryer to dry it, presto new coin.
