Church, cultural centre and business building at Sortland in Bømlo
Here are some winter pictures of the church, cultural centre and SAM´s centre in Svortland.
The church, a wooden church, is the oldest from 1869. It is a large and beautiful church in a style that was dominant at the time.
The business building is from 1985 but has had two extensions afterwards with ten years apart.
The first expansion came in 1995, and the last happened in 2005, coinciding with the construction of the cultural centre which was also built that year.
"Storavatnet", a small lake, is frozen and the pictures are taken from the iced water. On the ice, there has come white snow.
Most of the pictures show the church and the culture house either alone or together.
These are very beautiful views.
But I'd be scared to walk on ice. Isn't that dangerous?

The pictures are from January, the winter of 2013, so it was quite safe to be on the ice.
This year have been so mild that there has been no opportunity to walk on the ice.
Wonderful photos and story about the architectural complex, Dear @Siggjo! It is good to see that people have preserved the building of the Church in such a beautiful state. A big plus is that the communists did not rule in Norway))) In the beginning I thought that the church building was made of stone, that it was built of wood, I admire even more. Before, people knew how to build for future generations.
Seeing the sea in the ice is always interesting for me. I have never seen ice on the sea in reality. A couple of hours ago I returned home, I was on the road for two days, I was very tired, but yesterday, when I got to Odessa, I forced myself to reach the sea, I had time before the train arrived, it was an incredible experience. I am glad for you that you can see it every day.
Beautiful pictures. But their shooting is pretty dangerous.
