The name of this plant is Canna Lily or locally sometimes known as Red Shobhayatri Phul. It is a beautiful and low maintenance flowering plant.

This plant usually grows to a height of 3 to 6 feet. The leaves of this plant are large, green, and look like banana leaves. Some varieties may also have reddish streaks on the leaves. The flowers of this plant can be bright red, orange, yellow, or pink. This plant has flowers and fruits, which contain hard black seeds. Canna plants prefer warm and humid climates. They cannot tolerate cold or frost. They need plenty of sunlight and light to bloom.

Moderate irrigation is needed so that the soil is always moist. Waterlogging is very harmful. It grows well in loam or sandy-loam soil. If you apply less fertilizer, the plant will give more flowers. New plants can be grown by dividing the tubers at the base of the plant. This method is easy and quickly fruitful.
